M7208 call display not working hot sure how to

So is the display not working or are you trying to set up caller ID?

M7208 phones were delivered with the very first Nortel systems and if you have one of those, you're not getting CID. The CICS cabinet or higher requries a CID trunk card and IIRC 5.0 or higher software. If all of those are in place, as a minimum you can press FEATURE 811 to display CID info.

How do i program a

I guess it's time to solve this because it has appeared at the top of my list now for far too long.

When a system loses programming, it's probably because the backup battery did not work. I'm guessing a 616 or lower cabinet with DR-1 or DR-2 software in a cartridge with battery backup in the cartridge.

A service call to replace the DR and reprogram is probably going to cost about $200. You can buy a battery backup and reprogram the system yourself if you have the installer password, knowing that if the BBU fails, you will have to reprogram it yourself, or you can check with your local Nortel supplier or eBay and get a new cartridge, system, or whatever.

The cartridge is about $60, the sysem about $300 used, and you pick whatever.
