There is a possibility that your sim card has gone bad. If you have access to another AT&T phone (or whatever GSM provider you use) try it in that phone and see if it works. If it doesn't work the sim is bad. If it works you may want to try hard resetting your phone. To do a hard reset:

1. Power the Device Off.
2. Press and hold the left SOFT KEY and the right SOFT KEY, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom of your device.
3. Release the stylus, but continue pressing the two SOFT KEY'S until you see the following message on the screen:
   • "This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to the manufacturer default settings. Press SEND to restore manufacturer defaults, or press any other button to cancel."

Before doing a hard reset, back up any information from the phone that you want to keep as all user data/programs will be lost and the phone will be put back to factory settings.

Since your phone is locked, it means you need to unlock the phone to be able to use it again. It is certain that you cannot unlock this phone for free, anywhere or on any site.

Though there are some phones that can be unlock for free, but unfortunately, yours cannot be unlocked for free because it's model phone.

Some sites offer to unlock phones and charge some amount of money, but I won't recommend that for you because those unlock codes are not reliable.

I would advice that you take the phone to a phone tech within your area/vicinity, and your phone will be unlocked there within a couple of minutes. The phone code will be reset with with computer using a phone cable. I'm sure you do not have the facilities to unlock your phone that's why I'm referring you to a phone tech.

My AT&T Tilt won't take my SIM card, even when it is inserted, how do I fix it?

a hard reset will wipe that all, but if u have some important data , consult the customer care

It comes with Vista and Windows 7 its called Windows Mobile Device Center and Sync Center on 7. On XP you just download Active Sync and install it.

I posted a little too early. There was one other trick I've used and I guess I should have started with that. The problem is indeed related to the SIM not getting enough downward pressure on the contacts to be recognized.

So I took a small strip of paper, about 3/8" by 1 1/4". I folded it three times. When you fold it one end will be closed and the other end will have the two edges of the paper that can open up. Using the open end will make it harder to slide under the bracket. So you will want to take the closed end and gently side it above the SIM card underneath the silver metal bracket that holds the SIM in place.

I used a post-it note as the paper but anything will do. It was working with just a double thickness but I wanted to be sure so I moved up to three layers. Depending on the tolerances of your phone you might be able to only do double layer and still be able to slide it in. Or you might need to go to four layers.

check the battery details with original battery.else try 2 hard reset it.

you have to call at&t and ask them for the 16 digit subsidy code, they shld provide u wit the code.

Firstly i doubt that your phone battery is damaged. To check this please go to your nearest mobile Service center & check for battery life. If it is damaged then you have to replace the battery to new one. If your phone is within the warranty period, your battery replacement will be done free of cost Else you have to bare the cost. Ther is also a possibilty of your phone chager to get damaged. Please check for the same with other compactible phone.

Either your charger is not working or your battery in the tilt is bad. Have someone take a voltage measurement on the cord from the charger.

AT&T is locking the sim cards on go phones to the imei number of the phone was purchased for 4 months...you can not use a sim card from a go phone in another phone during that time frame.
