Can't conect to internet with my dsl modem

Check to see if you already have a PCI card installed, its common to buy one from a store or a private person and the on-board card does not work and a PCI card installed, check the back of the PC to see if there is a 2nd NIC port avail. and before you go spending money on another PCI card check your device manager to ensure your are not having driver issues. in closing, check your network cables as well and make sure they are all securly plugged in on both ends.

My dell vostro 1510 turns on but the screen

Always start with checking the connections/cables. If they are secure, verify that the monitor is set to display the correct signal (ie. Analog or Digital by pressing the buttons on the monitor) You should see text on the monitor screen letting you know the display type.

My computer keeps reading diskette 0 seek failure on a black screen and wont start how do I fix this issue. I have a dell desktop computer

You might get this error if there is a non-bootable diskette in the drive. Remove it if so and you might have a normal star-up.If there is no diskette in the drive, you may have a hard drive failure where the computer can't start normally and is switching to try the floppy.

I changed my "setup settings" : the F2 key and now almost everything crashes. i need the original settings in the different categories.

Unplug the machine, remove the CMOS battery, wait a 15 minutes, replace CMOS battery, reboot, open BIOS, Set time ONLY. Save and reboot. That begs the question, Why change the BIOS setup?

NO SOUND ON MY DELL VOSTRO 200

Try re-installing the audio driver. You can download the audio and device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Click on this link to download the drivers: - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

Dell vostro 200 cd/dvd drive door not opening or reading disks

The first thing to check is the pc power plug going to the drive. it may have browned out or that part of the power supply is bad. Try a different plug inside the tower first and see if that solves the problem. It also depends on how old the drive is. It just may not be functional anymore.
