NEC VT695 LCD Projector - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Status is blinking constantly don't understand what to do.
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

Hi,
The first thing I would do is to clean the projector...it is getting too hot, the fan cannot move enough air.
A can of the compressed air like you use on a keyboard may help temporarily, but to really clean properly it will need to be disassembled and cleaned so it will cool properly. This may not be the problem, but it is the easiest thing to try first. Any other problem is probably fatal...

Hello,
The steady orange light indicates that there is an error on the lamp of your projector. This is also the reason why it won't turn on.
• Ensure that the lamp cover is installed correctly.
• Check to see if the projector has overheated or the lamp usage exceeds 1100 hours (2100 hours in
Eco 2 mode and 1600 hours in Eco 1 mode). If there is insufficient ventilation around the projector or
if the room where you're presenting is particularly warm, move the projector to a cooler location.
The problem has to do with the lamp so have it checked.
Good luck.
When power button is turned on it has a orange
The bulb is not lighting.
Make sure the covers are going on correctly if I remember this one has an inner cover as well.
There is a little micro switch that needs to be operated by cover going on correctly.
also check the plugs / connectors are ok.

Check the bulb hours remaining through the menu. The bulb gets dimmer with age, so it could be close to life expectancy (2000 hrs regular, 3000 hrs Eco) and failing. The indicator light is based on hours only and will shut down the projector after (2100 or 3100 hours of bulb use), so it could still be the lamp failing or a power supply issue, especially if it's dim right from start up. Hope this helps.
I just replaced the lamp. Is there a reset
No reset other then resetting the hours in the projector's menu. This is for reference only and will not keep the projector from coming on. If the lamp will not light make sure the lamp cover is all the way on and nothing has broken off of it.

Staus light is blinking red, it has a new light
If it is blinking once every 4 seconds or so then the cover that goes over the lamp is either missing, open or broken. It will not look broken but a critical part of the plastic has probably broken off. This will happen even if the cover has not been touched. Without it the projector thinks the cover is missing or open. Try another cover if you have one to be sure.

I have replaced bulbs in 3 different types of NEC
I had the same issue, what I figured out was that I never removed the lamp door correctly, causing a small plastic piece to break off. To see if this is also your problem, inspect the back of the lamp door, top right corner, if it seems a rectangular plastic piece is missing, thats the problem. It presses in a small button nearby the lamp to let the projector know it's safe to power on.
I've attached an image to help out.
Is there anyway that i
Hello.
Connecting the nec to your tv, I think you mean you would like to get the TV's picture out from the NEC instead of the TV.
You need to connect your digital cable box or dvd player or vcr system, where the picture goes to the tv, to the projector instead to get it to display the tv picture.
Can't guarantee that it would work without knowing more about your equipment.
If that is not what you wanted to do then I do not know.
