I need i setup for sony wallkman mp3
as far as the software for it you can get it on the sony website just google it and as for loading music try these options
**Drag and Drop**
Connect your MP3 player to the computer. Some MP3 players connect directly to a USB port, while others connect to a USB port by way of a specific USB connector that comes with the MP3 player. Open the folder on the computer that contains the music files you want to transfer. This is usually the "My Music" folder, available from the "Start" menu, but it can be any folder where you save your music files. Scroll down to the song you want to transfer to the MP3 player. Right-click on the title. When the options are displayed, click on "Send To." Scroll down the "Send To" options and select your MP3 player. This can be listed as your MP3 player's name or as "Removable Drive." Click on this selection. Continue this process until you have transferred all songs that you want to your MP3 player.
--**Windows Media Player**--
If you have a large playlist to transfer, you may prefer to do it from your media player, such as Windows Media Player. Once your MP3 player is connected to the computer, open Windows Media Player. Click on the "Sync Music" tab. Drag songs that you want from your Windows Media Library over to the "Sync Music" column to create a playlist. Click the "Begin Sync" tab at the bottom once you have all of the songs on your playlist. This action will sync all of the songs to your MP3 player with one click. Disconnect your device once songs have been transferred by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the bottom-right side of the desktop tray.

Volume dropped after "go back"
I noticed the same thing with mine and I seem to have fixed that problem (accidentally). I decided I wanted to clean the unit up, so I did the following:
- First I RESET the unit using a pin in the little hole on the back (marked RESET).
- Next I chose the FORMAT option in the SETTINGS menu and cleared the memory (ALL songs and settings).
After reloading my music, I noticed the volume drop NO LONGER OCCURS. The unit also seems to POWER UP a little quicker too, but I can't say for certain.
I'm hoping my little RESET/FORMAT will fix a few other little quirks in the unit (like SHUFFLE playing the same track over and over out of 400+ songs!)
Not getting detected by the System (XP)
Hello rsnarian04..
If your walkman is not being detected you nee to check if it is correctly connected. If you are using USB cable make sure that your cable is good, and working properly. Plug your USB direct to the motherboard port do not use the front panel. Some of front panel are not working.
Good luck!!

Boot error shutting down
That only means that the USB port is not updated. It can detect USB devices so all you need to do is to update the drivers of the USB port on your computer or you may try different USB port on your computer.
If you want to update the USB port on your computer you may go to device manger, right click my computer and go to properties then hardware and then device manager. From there you look on the USB device right click and hit update, you may use internet to update the drivers on the device.
If problem still the same thing you may try other's computers USB port and check if it will happen again.
Hope this works!
