A generic 12 volt adapter should work. I replaced mine recently. They usually come with multiple sizes of round ends and can adjust the output voltage. The side of the device will tell you the polarity and the voltage required. If it says something like 5 V but the adapter only has 4.5 V or 6 V, select the closer choice. If they're about equal, select the lower one. It is better to have an under volt than an over volt.

Sounds like the sensitivity is whacked...can you hear the type sound. Mine does this sometimes and I solve it by using 2 thumbs and constantly push the settings icon, on each side.
