How can I chech the heating element to see if it's working?

Good Afternoon Friend, I understand you have a 7 year old Kenmore dishwasher, which you want to know how to check the heating element to see if it's working. Typically, this is not a do it yourself job, as there are no step by step instruction manuals. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They have been trained on your appliance and should be able to diagnose your appliance and determine if the heating element is working. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

Hello jerrydj1021 - Often when the breaker trips, it is a mainly because there is too much current running on one circuit. Is the unit plug into a GFI outlet? It is not recommended to use GFI outlets or too many appliances plugged into that one circuit. Try plugging the unit into another direct outlet and see if the breaker trips again. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully. Thank you.

Door falls open, no restraints

Yes, I've fixed a few, and was unable to fix a few. You may need to remove the whole cover of the dishwasher to get to the insides. You should find either the springs are broken on both sides of the bottom of the door, or even more likely, the plastic parts between the springs and the body or the door have broken. The parts can be ordered from "Sears Parts" on the inter-net. You will need to provide the model number to look them up.Be blessed.

Frigidaire dishwasher fdb 750 stops during cycle

Hello - The issue may lie with the door latch; a door switch is used to start and stop your dishwasher. It's a safety feature that won't allow water to flow with the door open. With a faulty door switch, there is a chance your dishwasher won't start at all. Dishwasher door switches are about an inch long. They are usually black but can be red. There are metal prongs on the body of the switch called terminals. Some door switches have two terminals and some have three. If your door switch is OK, check the timer assembly. This controls when and how long power is sent to other controls on your dishwasher. If these controls don't receive power, they won't work. The timer assembly contains a motor. Check this motor as well. It is often cheaper just to replace the timer motor rather than the complete assembly. My last suggestion is to check the cycle selector switches. These switches indicate cycles for washing, drying, and setting the temperature of the water. If one of your switches is the problem your dishwasher may also prevent the unit to start. Dishwasher cycle selector switches tell the timer which cycle to run by opening and closing electrical circuits. Most selector switches are six to eight inches long. They are usually black and have terminals. By testing each one of these parts with an ohmmeter you should be able to determine why your dishwasher is not working. It is possible for other parts to fail but these are the most common parts to check. If any proves to be ineffective, I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

Take the sump apart from the inside of the tub and clear the debris from under the lower wash arm support. (remove the wash arm support and clean inside) There is a plastic ball in there that moves side to side to pass water to the upper wash arm. The ball is not moving due to debris.

Please help! I just

Your dishwasher has clogged water ports.
Start the dishwasher with NO dishes in it.
Once it starts the wash cycle, open the door and pour in 1 quart of WHITE vinegar and resume the wash cycle.
That should clear out the residue.
Change your dishwasher soap to the FINISH brand name for happy clean dishes.

The upper arm is free

Hi

Please check if something is blocked near the top spray arm, also make sure that all holes are oopen. Use a sharp metal pin to clean the holes on the top spray arm. Make sure the water pressure is not low.

under the screen and youl'll need a Torx driver to get to it after you remove the spray arm and screen. Check to see that the path it travels is clear. I have seen these get blocked up by stuff. Now check if the top arm spins freely and check the bearings for the arm, if they are producing extra friction while the spray arm spins. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more assistance.

Check that the arm outlet jets at the trailing end of the arms are not blocked with food particles and other solid matter. This often happens and the arm is unable to turn because the water jet that is supposed to drive the arm does not have the force to rotate it.
