Toshiba Satellite A205-S5823 Notebook Questions & Answers
Hello,
this is roger,
my toshiba
Hi Roger,
There are a couple of problems that may be causing your laptop not to charge, the most likely are listed below.
1) Ensure that the battery icon in the bottom right hand corner has a picture of a plug next to it.
If this is not showing there is a problem with the connection between the charger and the laptop. This can be checked by "wiggling" the connector between the laptop and the charger to see if it shows the plug symbol in any position.
The charger can be ruled out as a problem by borrowing a friends charger if they have one to see if that works and to try your charger on their laptop.
2) Ensure that the battery icon in the bottom right hand corner does not have a picture of a red cross.
If this is showing it indicates a problem with the laptops battery and will need to be replaced in the near future. Unplugging and plugging the charger back in can sometimes remedy this but it is only a temporary solution.
3) If none of the above work it is also worth powering off the laptop completely and removing the battery overnight. Then trying to charge the battery the following morning. This can give the laptop time to "reset" itself and cool down.
It is most likely a problem with the battery as they tend to have a shorter lifespan than the chargers (unless the charger is physically damaged by cutting the cable)

Toshiba satellite L205 laptop is not working from
Hi
A big cause of laptop adapter failures is cord crimps. These can occur when any heavy object rolls over the cord on a hard surface. The conductor of the cord can eventually break under the stress of being rolled over. If the cord or insulation is not completely severed, it may not show where the short has occurred. Since most adapters include an LED that will light up when the device is plugged in, a good indicator that there is a short would be an unlit LED.
Any time the adapter has cuts in the insulation of its cord, or is otherwise missing pieces of its insulation, it should be replaced immediately. Bare wires carry a risk of serious or fatal shocks, as well as possible fire hazard. Do not attempt to repair your AC adapter. Contact the laptop's manufacturer or seller to find information about a replacement adapter.
The easiest way to test your adapter is to plug it in. In addition to the adapter's LED, there should be an additional LED on your computer to indicate that the computer is getting power from the outlet. If neither of these LEDs lights, then there is definitely a power problem. If an identical, "known good" adapter can be obtained, connect it to your computer. If the computer gets power from the new adapter, then a replacement adapter will fix the problem. If the computer does not get power from either adapter, there is probably an issue with the computer. At this point, it is suggested that the computer be brought to a PC repair technician for diagnosis.
Another thing is the point on your computer to which your adapter connects is not prone to failure, but, being soldered to the motherboard with little other support, can break. If your computer only powers intermittently or you have to "wiggle" the adapter to get power, there's a good possibility that the power input on your computer has broken. This is not an easy or quick fix; you may need to replace the entire motherboard, depending on your computer model. Consult a technician to diagnose the problem .
Let us know if you want to know something else accept the suggestion.

I had install window7 in Toshiba satellite A205
the problem is S-ATA:
the hard disk in the machine is controlled by a S-ATA-controller, which can be configured as a RAID-controller. the windows installer needs a driver for this controller, which will be loaded during the windows setup. to do this, you need to retrieve the S-ATA driver from the toshiba website and copy it to a floppy disk. it HAS to be a floppy disk, because the windows installer can only search for drivers on the floppy, since none of the other device drivers could be installed.

I purchased 2x 2GB DDR2 rams for my laptop
Your laptop can only accommodate a maximum of 2GB of physical memory. If you are running Windows Vista, you can get a little extra memory by using the "ReadyBoost" feature that is built into the OS. I have done that in the past and it works well for me.
Here's a link to Kingston's (a good memory mfg) memory guide for your model laptop:

Let me know if that helps!

Japanese Visa Application with COE denied. Why?
How to Get Employment Security With Correct Japan Work Visa Japan is no different from other developing nations whereby grass seems greener on its side of the pasture. It attracts its fair share of foreign businesses as well as nationals seeking to work within its lands. Albeit many adhere to immigration procedures, some choose to test their limits on the basis of ignorance or defiance. By understanding the different types of work visa in Japan, it assures its foreign workers a continual stream of income with no threat of arrest and deportation. Visa simply infers the status of residence. Citizens obviously have no need of it as they automatically satisfy qualifications to freely reside in their country of birth. As for those of alien status who wish to join the local workforce, there should be a category to match one's requirement. Since most countries strive to improve the overall quality of life, professionals are generally welcomed to contribute knowledge and skill. Unskilled labor is normally not granted a visa to avoid flooding and dilution of the workforce. The visa is awarded in accordance to one's area of expertise. Supported with proof of relevant experience, it is based on the field of involvement whilst working in the country. In the event one's work scope changes from one expertise to another, it is essential to apply for a visa under the new circumstances. Different types of work visa in Japan also apply to foreign companies seeking to conduct local business. Domestic companies based abroad wishing to set up a local point of presence need to provide supporting documents to justify internal transfer of foreign workers. Governmental staff for diplomatic duties is assigned a category for legal residence. Over and above the general groupings, designated activities also garner approval from the authorities. Domestic service for non-native residents and citizens of certain nations on working holidays fall into this category of working visa. This, by no means, is the end of the list as it is best to consult the authorities on which visa serves best.Click Here For More Details: http://japanjobandvisaservice.com/blog/change-your-luck-when-apply-work-visa
