Hello

Unfortunately you cannot convert vista into xp, like vista can convert to windows7. You need to install a new clean copy of windows Xp on your computer. Remember to backup all the data and files which you want to keep, before you format your computer to install windows XP. Also have a look at all the drivers you will be needing after you installed Xp, remember, your operating system changes, thus the drivers will also change.

If your HDD is partitioned, you should have a C drive, o this drive windows will be installed, thus you will loose all data on this drive, so make sure that the Data you want to keep is on a other partition or a other drive.

Here is how you install windows XP:

Just click on the link and it will give you step by step instructions on how to reinstall windows Xp.

Is it under warranty?

I'd call Toshiba and let them try some stuff with ya over the phone - chances are you have a loose connection to your display, or the display itself may be pooping out on you.

If the TPM is not enabled in the Bios,Then you can use Bitlocker.
If it is enabled,You will need to check with Toshiba for compatibility issues or disable TPM

I run it on mine and it works fine.

First,If you are running windows vista,This can be due to an update that has your video driver and windows video driver running at the same time.

Hardware would be the invertor board is bad.

Ttry to start with F8 and choose start in vga mode,If this allows you to start normally,go to the device manager and update the video drivers

either the screen saver is corrupted or it is not supported on ur os,
if problem persists make these 1> system restore or 2>repair ur os or 3>format ur system (do it one by one if not resolved)
