I have a three Y/O Toshiba A200 and the battery

You more than likely need a New Battery. Before you buy a new one, I suggest that you check the Battery Recall List on your Laptops Manufacturer's Website. If it is a Recall Item, they will replace it for free. Lucky4lynn2 :) please rate me, ok?

I have a toshiba satelitite A-200 laptop. it is

Check power adapter’s DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.
This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Need to acess the bios to reset the comp to

Try Alt and F10 as it boots up. If not then you need to go into Safemode (F8) In the advanced options there under system restore there should be the option to restore the factory default installation. This will delete your data; backup any necessary files first.

Hey there , i have a 2 yr old toshiba a200 laptop

If you are unable to play any DVDs in that drive, then you will need to have the drive replaced. First make sure to try different DVDs in the drive to ensure that it is not a faulty DVD. If the drive is the issue, then you will need to purchase the part. The part is easily replacable.

First go to a computer parts website such as Best Buy or purchase on Ebay.

Below is one location to purchase the drive:
http://www.priorityelectronics.com/laptop-cdrw/toshiba-satellite.htm

Once you purchase the drive, the instructions on how to remove and replace the drive are below:

Look to the bottom of the laptop and you will see a screw where the DVD drive is located. towards the middle at the bottom of the laptop.

Remove one screw securing the DVD drive and push it from the laptop with a screwdriver.
Remove the DVD drive.

Once that drive is out, just push in the new drive, replace the screw, and you will be good.

I hope this was helpful. If you are uncomfortable performing the steps listed above, please consult a local computer repair shop and make sure that the tech servicing your computer is certified technician.

UBYTE4N vertex data doesn't support my computer

Try updating your video card drivers to the latest ones and also update to the latest version of directx.

If you do those two things and call of duty 4 still wont' run then that means the video card doesn't support the game.

Funky screen on Toshiba A200 laptop

Either its a failing video card or failing LCD and in either case it will be several hundred dollars just for the part.

Most non-gaming laptops have integrated video built-in to the motherboard.

If you have never taken apart a laptop I would strongly recommend against it as you will be dealing with about 80 screws, parts that are taped, glued, clipped together.

If you do decide to the manufacturers generally have a how to guide and taking apart their laptops.
For my own benefit when I repair laptops I lay out sever pieces of paper and label them like back of laptop, front, under keyboard, ect to keep track of screws since size does matter :) when it comes to the screws.

Hope this helps

My mother has a toshiba satelite a200 series

You can pry the keys off the keyboard by gently lifting with a fingernail, or you can use a compressed air canister and a specific "T" stick with cottoned ends which slides underneath the keys.
The LEFT key has probably some dirt in the central contact, and you'll have to remove the key and clean underneath. Same goes for the G key, which has something sticky underneath. You can remove almost all kinds of sticky dirt by washing the key with WD-40 lubricant and drying with a non-lint paper tissue.

Detailed key removal and reinstall instructions may be found e.g. on eBay looking for "spare key tops" or "spare keys".

Toshiba satellite A200 laptop ...some keys dont work....

You can't clean the contacts at all. If you take the keyboard apart on a laptop you will find there are 3 thin plastic sheets of circuitry and there all plastic welded to each other, if you pull then apart you will never get the keyboard to work again. The only thinks you can do is try taking the keyboard off and re-connect it back again. If you still have the same problem you will need to replace the keyboard, best place to look is eBay

My laptop cannot identify a network

you must be using vista...? Do you have internet connectivity? If you do have connection i wouldn't worry about identifing the network. If you cannot access the internet and the connection says something like limited or no connectivity, take the subnet of your modem (or router whatever the case may be) and static your NIC with a specific IP address.

Subnet? http://ask-leo.com/how_do_i_determine_the_subnet_mask_im_supposed_to_use.html

Static? http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-assign-a-Static-IP-addess-on-WinXP

If none of this works i offer tech support walkthroughs at http://www.hoosierpcrepair.com
