if by chance you didn't 'create a "Supervisor Password" to prevent anyone from changing the configurations in the BIOS / CMOS Setup?

Bootup / Restart the computer, and follow these steps:

• When you hear the computer start-up, there will be a message that flashes very quickly at the bottom of the screen, it will read!
• Press F2 or F12 'or on other' Computers, the 'Key' Sequence may be [F11]..."
• The area of your attention, will be [F2] Key at the top of the keyboard.
• Press the [F2 Key] to open the CMOS / BIOS Setup.
• Once this screen appear!
• You will see a 'Listing" of different set-ups.
• There will be instructions in the [right] Help ? area.
• You be using the "Arrow Keys" to (Select and Choose Items).
• In the first screen, there will be on the (right of the screen).
• Set Supervisor Password = This is the "Password Setting that will prevent anyone from getting into without authorization!"
• To "Change or Configure" CMOS or BIOS setting.
• Set User Password = This Password is use for "Logins / User Accounts...
• You want to "Reset or Change the Supervisor Password.
• Do so; and to finish, 'press' the [F10 Key] to 'Save the Changes.'

Hello,

The NumLK key in your keyboard was activated. Here's what you need to do to deactivate it.

Press FN and NumLK.

It should work.

AS long as you buy a hard drive that is compatible all you need to do is look for te disc icon on the bottomof te machine remove the screws and pop it in ther eit is as simple as that

This is a common Acer problem. You need to update the BIOS. Copy and paste the following link for step-by-step instructions.

install any good antivirus software or if there is no important dat you can format the system and reinstall the operating system if you have recovery disk or windowx xp software.

If Ctrl+c is not working, but the Control key works for other things and you can type the letter "C", then you have probably accidentally redefined what Ctrl+c does, either in the applifcation you are trying to use (check "Preferences" and "Options", particularly if it says "Keyboard Mapping") and also for the desktop.

If you want to get the most out of your battery, then try not to use it very much, and if you run your laptop of a direct power source, the remove it completly, and store it somwhere dry, cool and free from dust. If your battery is really bad, then you can improve it's capacity by freezing it! This however could destroy your battery, so only do it if you have to. Anyway, in answer to your question, if you are using it of mains power only, then yes, take the battery out.

Option One:
To fix it, open “My Computer”, or “Windows Explorer”, find the drive icon for your CD/DVD player/burner and right-click on it. When the popup menu opens, choose, “Properties”. Click on the “Auto Play” tab. Click on “Select an Action to Perform”. Click on the “Restore Defaults” button and click on the “Apply” button. Then click on “Prompt me each time to choose an action” and click on the “Apply” button again. (Note: If you want it to open in a particular program each time you put in your music CD, instead of clicking on “Prompt me…” choose the program you want it to open each time you put in your CD. Now click on “Apply” and “OK” and restart your computer. Now put in a music CD and see if it works as it should.
