Hi.. My lenovo Y510 laptop mouse

First of all check if the hardware is detected. Look in the Device Manager under "Mice or Other Pointing Devices". If it's not detected means there's a problem with your TouchPad.

Normally you won't need drivers for the touchpad. It should be detected as PS/2 Compatible device.

How to set subwoofer on lenovo ideapad y510?

System crashes may result to data corruption. Reinstalling the audio drivers for your computer will make your speakers work again. Follow the steps:
- go to consumersupport.lenovo.com
- select region and language
- enter your laptop serial number under option 1 and click search
- scroll down to "Audio Section"
- select the best applicable driver for your system according to your Windows Operating System and download it
- run the drivers after the download
- it may require you to restart your computer, if it does confirm to it

That should fix the the error..

Lenovo Y 510 right bottom

Hi mtown,

Lenovo is the only one who do have the the bottom casing for your Y510 and there's nowhere you can buy from. If you were already informed by Lenovo that they do not sell the part and the machine is already out of warranty then I'm afraid to say that there's really nothing more we can do for this. If you want you may contact Lenovo once again because they do an out of warranty repair. You can inquire about how much the cause may be.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using Fixya.

Dvd drive removal

Hello There and Welcome to Fixya,

Your optical drive (dvd drive) is not a "Customer Replaceable Unit" (CRU) following Lenovo's service standards. What I recommend instead, is for you to contact their helpdesk through phone. Here's the link for their consumer support for further guidance :

Lenovo Support

It will provide you with options and more knowledge about your Y510.

I need to replace a CMOS battery for a Lenovo

Hi There and Welcome to Fixya!

Replacing CMOS battery for a laptop computer is quite difficult and often requires a trained (brand) professional and the necessary tools to get it done. With this, I would highly recommend for you to contact their helpdesk support and see if they can offer you other options :

Lenovo Support

Pretty much, this computer is already out of warranty so if you would decide to send it in to their repair center, they should be able to provide you the overhead cost estimate at the very least.

Similarly, I have included the user's manual specifically for this product and see if it can help you:

Also, I have included the site where you can view (and download) the user's manual specifically for this computer. It does not have anything regarding dis-assembly but I'm quite sure it will be of a help :

I have a problem with my y510 display. Its shows

Hello There and Welcome to Fixya,

This is absolutely not true. If you have not tried anything yet to resolve this problem, then here are my recommendations :
  • Reinstall (or upgrade) your video driver
  • Operating system reinstallation
If the above solutions does not fix this problem, then chances are, you're having a video card issue and may need to be replaced. Usually, the video card is embedded in the motherboard so the entire board will be replaced (which will really cost you), but it does not have to be done every 3 months especially if you're using this computer as designed.

For more information on your system, you may visit this link for Lenovo's consumer support :
