You have to reinstall your webcam driver whcih bundled with your webcam..and install your motherboard driver to enable your system drivers...

Try the disk cleanup in the disk properties (right click the disk icon).
You can really free up a lot of space by deleting temp files, memory dump files and all restore point but the last. The last thing you only want to do if your system is running stable of course.
Also make sure to defrag after disk cleanup to maximize the efficient use of the free space.

Yes you can obtain recover software from Lenovos' website for your model that should take care of your problems.

The best way for you to "unlock" the tray of your optical drive is to do it while in BIOS mode. Here's how to get to the BIOS screen :

1. Shut down your computer
2. Restart then tap on "DEL" key repeatedly until you see a different screen (example below)



From here, you should now be able to "eject" the optical drive tray.

you need to re-install your webcam driver.
-first uninstall the web cam driver you are currently using to do this follow these steps:
-go to start, control panel, programs and features then look for the driver of your cam, click un-install).
-restart machine
-download the driver of your webcam from www.lenovo.com/support. type in on the search bar Y510 drivers then look for the webcam driver
-install webcam driver and test it

For Y510 issue install the messanger 9.0 beta this is the supported version with Vista.

Update the bios. I heard that issue is fixed with a bios upgrade. Check the downloads section and look for BIOS update.

You can try to clean the laser lens with alcohol and a q-tip. Other than that, you have to have them serviced or buy another one. CD's have some moving parts that can wear after awhile, and also the electronics is very sensitive, and can get out of kilter, so when that happens, they have to have parts replaced.

HI there log on yahoo messenger then go in preferrence, then webcam stlect webcam setting & then deselect the IMAGE FLIP. Now save the setting . it will start work.

Before you install a driver, go to device manager and look for the imaging device. If you can't see imaging device. Press FN and Esc at the same time and you will see imaging device will appear. If it didnt press it again. Then go to consumersupport.lenovo.com to download the driver. Once your done installing the driver. Powercycle system and check if it will work.

You will need to read the manual to see what it says. Most times it does not work unless the manufacturer put a recovery partition on your hard drive. Consider trying one of the alternatives below:To get the manual try the manufacturer's website:

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "IBM Support" or "Lenovo Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals and search them for System Recovery or Factory Restore.

System Restore will allow you to select a Restore Point (date and time) to set your system back to when it was working ok. It does not delete any of your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs (unless the program was installed after the Restore Date you selected). System Recovery (sometimes referred to as Factory Restore) will set your system back to when you first purchased it. It Deletes Everything. Most times the System Recovery does not work unless there is a recovery partition on your hard drive created by the manufacturer.
