Lenovo y410 camera driver
Hi
prashant3_yi,
Welcome to FixYa! How are you doing?
You did not specify the operating system you have (whether it is windows xp, vista or windows 7).
Anyways, you can download the camera driver of your Lenovo Y410 here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-68104.html
Note: If the link does not work. Copy and paste it on the address bar of your internet explorer.
Hope it helps. Thank you for using FixYa!
I have a lenovo g460e....
Hi,
Please try to use the camera using different applications like yahoo messenger, skype or Lenovo Youcam. If non of them works with the camera follow the instructions below.
Please try Fn+Esc. This function allows you to enable or disable the built-in camera for Lenovo Laptops. There should be a small camera symbol that would appear on the lower right corner of the screen. If the camera symbol has " \ " on it, it means the camera is disable but if not it means its enable.
Check if the camera is seen on the device manager and check it properties. Make sure the camera's status is "Device is working properly". If not download the driver from the link below.

Your touchpad is very sensitive. Be sure to keep your fingers away from it when typing. I have the same problem with my Toshiba laptop--I decided that unless I was in a travelling situation, I would use a small wireless mouse. I just disabled the touchpad.
When i type in my MS word or replying mail using
On your touch pad exists a place that works like a scroller on the mouse (Usually the right part of pad with white lining). When you rest your wrists in this area, the cursor usually jumps in another place. I'm of course hoping that this is the problem and that your touch pad works fine. Try it and please tell me if this fails..
My cursor jumps around when
Hi booghug,
Jumping cursor on your laptop can be fixed by any of the two options. It's either by adjusting some settings of your tocuhpad or by uninstalling/reinstalling it's driver.
Here's how:
- Go to Control Panel and then click on Mouse.
- Inside mouse properties look for the option that says, Tap off when typing.
- Put a check mark on the box before this to enable.
- Then hit on Apply then, OK. Restart your computer.
If after doing this you have noticed that you're still getting the same issue, reinstall the driver for your touchpad.
- Click on th link to get the driver for your touchpad. Y410 Touchpad Driver
- Look for Touchpad and underneath it you'll see drivers. Select the one for your operating system (ex. Windows Vista 32bit).
- Then, click on download here.
- Once the download is complete, install the driver for your Tocuhpad.
- Lastly, make sure to restart your PC id the system prompted you to.
After reinstalling the driver do again the procedure in changing the properties for your Touchpad. This should resolve the problem. Hope this helps.

When I am typing he cursor jumps around
It is a fault with Lenovo laptops. My cursor jumps all the time, no matter what software I am using. It is NOT the 'sensitivity' of the touchpad, for my cursor jumps even when I am not typing, even if I don't touch the laptop! I can set the cursor to a certain point on a document and then, after about 30 seconds, it will just jump to another point, even if I am in another room.
I have purchase lenovo Y410
I would 'slap' Windows around, and make it reinstall the drivers for the DVD optical drive.
Vista:
[Note* All clicks are Left-click unless otherwise noted]
1) Click on Start (Windows logo button)
2) Click on Control Panel
3) Click on Device Manager
4) After Device Manager loads all the way, click on the + sign to the left of -
DVD/CD-ROM drives
5) Right-click on the name of the DVD optical drive
6) Click on Uninstall
Windows will come up with a 'squawk box',
"Warning you are about to uninstall this device"
It's okay, click on OK.
Now close all windows, and go back to the desktop screen.
Restart the computer.
When Windows has fully loaded you should get a pop-up out of the system tray,
"Found new hardware device", and perhaps another one will follow,
"Found XXXX optical drive"
(XXXX being the name of the optical drive)
If this doesn't work try cleaning the laser optical eye of the DVD optical drive.
Laptop on open the DVD optical drive tray.
Turn the laptop off.
Remove ALL power to the laptop.
(AC adapter {Charger} and Battery)
Use a can of compressed air for computers.
Or use a disk cleaning device for cleaning CD/DVD optical drives. (Power plugged into the laptop)

Camera initialization failed.. Lenovo Y410
Hi mbmedel,
I see that you are having issue with your camera with an Error Initialization Failed.
you can try reinstalling the drivers of your camera from the Lenovo website, or you can locate your Camera driver in the D: drive if you still have that partition then look for the Drviers folder then look for Camera you should see the installer in that folder it maybe name setup or dvinstl.
Also you can try Holding Down the Fn + Esc this turns the camera On and Off see if the camera will repsond to this function if not then try the reinstallation of the driver.
If during the Re0installation of the camera driver then an Error show could not detect camera or device then the camera on your machine needs to be replaced.
I hope this helps.
Have a nice day,

Hi.. i have a Lenovo
Yes, with this model, Mix and match is ok. Different sizes/speeds
of memory can be used together as long as their specification are qualified by
the systems. For instance, a laptop can use one 512MB and one 2GB of memory for
the total of 2.5GB system memory. Mixing two different speeds of memory modules
would result the system to run at the speed of the slower memory between the two
modules.
Laptop make buzzing noise low to high it goes.
Hi There and Welcome to Fixya.
This on and off buzzing noise in the system indicates that the fan is not operating as designed and needs to be replaced as soon as possible. You may refer to Lenovo's consumer support site for replacement/repair options:

Welcome to Fixya.
The system fans are located at the bottom left of this laptop. If there's noise, then it means that the fan is working to cool down the processing. If the fan noise is too loud, then it needs to be replaced as soon as possible.
You can check for replacement/repair options through Lenovo's support site :

There is a pink line on top of my screen of my
Sorry to say that this is an indication that the LCD display is failing in that one line. It doesn't
mean that other parts of the display will fail. It may work this way for years to come. Unless it is really annoying or covers more than one single line, such as an inch or so, it isn't something that will cause damage to your laptop. I wouldn't go to the expense of replacing the LCD over one line.
I conect my lenovo laptop Y 410 with Panasonic
Hi dr_piyushpat,
I see that you conencted your Lenovo Y410 to a Panasonic THP42c10 LCD TV, see details below.
*The Audio will dpened on what cable connection you have from the Laptop to the LCD TV,
*You have Y410 I do not think that HDMI will be an option.
*I believe that you are using the VGA port on the Machine for an extended Video.
*The Audio will really not be coming out of the Panasonic TV if you are using a VGA cable since that is only for Video you will need an audio cable Jack that will relay audio from the Laptops Audio Jack to the Audio Jack of your Panasonic TV thsi is the only way you can get audio out from the Laptop since you are conencted using a VGA cable.
* do not think that HDMI is present on your Lenovo Y410, but if ever you may have that connection/port the way to get Audio from an HDMI conenction is to change the audio PLayback properties and selct HDMI as the default device for the Audio to work using HDMI.
I hope that this helps.
have a nice day,
mvincentc
