The only possibility that I can think of is that you did not tell Garmin Express to install to the SD card (8gb or less). Do a hard reset on the device. Download Garmin Express and install it to your PC. Connect your device to your PC. Garmin Express will identify it and allow you to install all the maps and software that the device has a subscription to. Tell Garmin Express to install to the SD card (8gb or less).

If this is happening while driving, you could have a cradle going out. Try moving the plug at cradle slightly and if it indicates battery then charges, your cradle is defective. Cradles can be found cheap at www.gpsnstuff.com.

1) Plug the device into the computer and allow it to go into Mass Storage Mode.
2) While in Mass Storage Mode, locate the device on the computer and delete the gupdate.gcd file in the Garmin folder.
3) Safely remove the nuvi via the Safely Remove Hardware feature on the computer.
4) Once prompted, unplug the nuvi from the computer, and power off the nuvi.
5) Power on the nuvi by holding the power button, continuing to hold the power button for about 1 minute, at which time the screen calibration option will display.
6) Calibrate the touch screen.

Its the wall charger that's broke ' ask for a replacement ' I did and was replaced with no problems free of charge ..hope this helps you ..

This is a known issue for Garmin nuvi 550 and 650.
Re-calibrate your touchscreen.
Press and hold the power button 2-3 minutes, the unit will enter the calibration process. Calibrate as instructed.

Has not come with instructions to upgrade or download so how do I do it ?????

The clips are part of the connector and can not be purchased separately, however it is possible to remove a clip from another connector and install it on the connector with the missing clip. It takes a steady hand and there is a trick to get it on. We've done it many times in our repairs for our customers.

seen this before, someone copy pasted a document and this is how it came out. brand, model, and what is your problem please?

I would suggest some caution here. I have noticed a trend in anything that can be updated by the consumer---they just blindly do it and I have also seen as the result of this dozens of units crash and burn---if you have not issues and the unit functions why risk losing it?Turn this unit off and see later if turned on it functions or not, failing that the only way out of the mess would be a call to the maker.Don't just blindly say ok, kind of like getting a email with a virus and saying OK.

If the screen does not come on that is a serious issue--if it comes on but does not respond it is possible there is a reset for the unit--get in touch with the model number with Garmin---many of the GPS makers have a flat fee for a unit if it needs repairs---weigh the cost of repair versus the cost of replacement of the unit.
