i would say the problems comes from the way the company formatted the movie onto the blu ray discs. and i would say that there will most likely be a recall on them. if anything connect the manufacturer of the movie. hope this helps you.

My dark Knight DVD was only playing the first 4 screens and I burned the firmware upgrade to a CD. It took about 20 minutes from the time I inserted it for it to be complete, then it stopped at 4 again but took about 30 seconds and it began to play perfect.

Me too until I upgraded player's software via LAN connection to latest available (June, 2008). After this worked like charm.

Since you have done all the updates then Samsung should replace your model, there is nothing more that can be done until they come up with a solution.

Download and manually update the firmware to version 2.4 for the BD-P1400 from the Samsung site. Burn the image (ISO) to a CD or CD-RW. It will take 20 minutes to do the update. The internet update will not fix the problem. It fixed the problem for me.
