Panasonic DMP-BD30K Blu-Ray Player Questions & Answers
When I press any button
You could try resetting the remote itself (remove the batteries as if to replace them, press any key on the remote to clear its buffer, then re-insert them or use new batteries) - since your unit is on remote command 2 (or SET 2), try pressing 2 and ENTER/OK on the remote together for 10 seconds, then release. This should now restore your remote to the correct command mode for your player. It may also solve the playback function issue.
The remote for most Panasonic DVD units would need to be reset whenever the batteries are replaced.
I understand the instruction manual does not always help the user.

Can you copy from a blu ray disk to the HDD
I think you need Leawo Blu-ray Copy to help you.

Blu-ray HD video fans to copy and backup Blu-ray discs to hard disk and
DVD discs. It incorporates advanced replication technology that allows
you to copy Blu-ray discs from various origins to the formats of
DVD-5/9, file folder, ISO image and even 1:1 disc duplication for
storage.
Free download it in here:

Can you copy from a blu ray disk to the HDD
There is only one program at the moment that can decrypt Blu Ray movies. That is AnyDVD HD. You can download the free trial from www.slysoft.com but it is only good for 21 days, after which you'd have to buy it.
To burn the movie to another disk you would need a Blu Ray burner and blank blu ray media. Many Blu ray movies are very large, I think they average over 30 gb, so they won't fit onto the 25gb blank BD-R or BD-RE disks without compression or trimming out unwanted extras. 50gb blank disks are available, but are still very expensive. Of course, if the movie happens to be one of those small enough to fit a 25gb blank disk, then you can do a straight transfer.
You can use ImgBurn in UDF 2.5 mode to burn blu ray movies.
If you want to select just the main movie and one audio track, you might be able to fit a movie onto a BD-R 25gb disk, but it depends on which movie you are trying to back up. You can use tsMuxer to select portions once the movie is decrypted, and then output as a blu ray disk.
You can also use a program called BD Rebuilder. It will compress the movie to fit onto a 25gb blank disk. It can also compress to fit onto dual layer or single layer blank dvds....but those disks won't play in all Blu Ray players and the latest version's output is causing playback problems in PS3's when using blank dvds instead of blank BD-R disks.
You should also be aware that compressing high definition video takes a powerful computer and a great deal of time. My last attempt to compress a Blu Ray movie to a dual layer dvd size took 14 hours using a Core2Duo based machine

We have a Panasonic Blu
It sounds like the bluray laser is worn out. Try cleaning the lens with a Blu-ray lens cleaner. If that dosen't help it might be the blu-ray laser it self. The laser is dead. If you are under warranty the call the manufacture for service. Shop around for current retail prices. Bluray players have gone down alot and it might be better to go ahead a buy a new player.

Upgrade BD30 wi-fi
To upgrade the firmware you will need to download the newest firmware from this site: http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/bd/download/bd30/index.html and burn it onto a cd. If you can't or don't want to burn the cd it looks like they will can send a copy of it to you.
