Sony Handycam® DCR-TRV250 Digital-8 Camcorder Questions & Answers
Plz tell me how to download a latest video editing
Losing your Handycam software is the best thing that could have happened to you all. It stinks.
Firewire eliminates the need for the crummy camcorder software. Basically, you need to install, or have installed, a Firewire card in your PC, then buy a Firewire cable. Then WinDV software will work perfectly to import video. USB connections, and the USB cable, are ideal for downloading digital still images from cameras. Running footage requires a very large bandwidth, which basically is the throughput from camera to computer. Think of a funnel with a small opening. The small opening is USB. Make the opening 4 times as large and nothing backs up in the funnel. The large opening is Firewire. Anyways, by using a Firewire connection, you can bypass the camcorder software and use "real" video editing software.

There's an in-built movie titler that lets add you styles to text titles including ticker taps, zoom and even the scroll effect. And if you are feeling lazy, just hit the AutoMovie command to have the entire video produced for you with intervention.
Tapes sounding funny
try using a smaller tapetime, the grinding noise your hearing is the gears of the tape take up within the casette not the camera, it seems the Sony tapes are 120mins long and the Sony tapes are heavier than TDK and your spool take up on the camera can't take it. the TDK tapes you were previously using may have been a shorter time than 120minute?...try any Hi 8 60min tapes instead. not the 120, they can be too heavy for the take up spool motor of the camera and all its doing is stretching and winding the cassette tape and unable to pull it with a 120 min cassette
I have a Sony TRV250
This is usually caused by a failed component in the moisture detection circuitry within the camera. This will require disassembling the camera to remove the tape mechanism and then replacing the defective component, reassembly and calibration if necessary. This can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

The best thing you can do now is to take it to a specialist and get them to do the repairs. Camcorders have a lot of electronics in them and can be easily damaged if your a not an experienced repairer. You might also have to consider that this camcorder might not be repairable.

TRV260 nail-polish head attack:
eek.
Acetone is a powerful solvent capable of dissolving plastic parts, plastic gears, housing and insulation.
Besides that, it leaves a residue of microscopic crystals which have probably contaminated the highly-polished metal head drum.
Not to mention gumming up the bushes and bearings.
With your next camera, rather use a head-cleaner DV-tape.
