SanDisk Sansa MP3 Player - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Sansa express stuck up in on function .
First, try a soft reset. Do this by pressing the center button and the up volume button
simultaneously and try turning it on. If that does not work for you, you will need to get a micro sd card (it can be a dummy) and insert it into the slot on the side of the
mp3 player. If you do not have one, you can use one of the round edges of a paper clip (be careful) to get it to come on. When you put either in, it should come on automatically, but if not, just press the power button. This should work.

"Liscense expired" on sansa express 2G
If you downloaded the songs onto your player free from a mp3 website, there songs most likely were protected by a liscense which only allows you to listen to the for a certain of time (usually a month) as a trial so you will buy the songs to keep it as long as you like. If you do not wish to purchase the songs from that place you are getting them from, you can either go to another free website without a liscense on their songs and get them there or purchase them from another site you like.
Trouble with expanded memory
The Sansa Express was only designed to hold up to a 2 GB Micro SD card because that is as much expandable memory it was meant to read. Anything bigger as in your case will cause the player to go slower than normal as it tries to read the card and after a while, it will most likely freeze. If you try it with a 2 GB Micro SD card, it should work.

2GB SANSA Express
You may need to get either a memory stick to go in the available spot, or if you do not already have one and do not want to spend any money, get a paper clip and carefully stick it in the slot and it should come automatically.
REG - windows not recognised
For some models pressing select and the + volume button for 10 sec resets the device and it is recognized by the pc on connecting. Check ur manual to check the way to reset ur device. You can download the manual from
http://www.sandisk.com in case you have misplaced it. Drop me a mail at
[email protected] to let me know if the solution worked for you.
Mp3 Won't load.
Had the same problem and was looking for a fix and came upon this site. Someone suggested pressing vol and select buttons together. That didn't do it but when I tried the menu/power button together with the square select button, the thing came back to life. If this works do post back.

USB device not recognized
Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Printers & Other Hardware --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager --> Universal Serial Bus Controllers - look to see if there are any yellow exclamation marks next to any of the USB ports. If so, right-click them and select Update Driver. Good luck!

My sansa is in a different language and i can't get it to change
Please go to Settings (which is the icon with 4 bars & 2 bars are moving up & down)....select Settings to go to submenu, then scroll down until you see FM xxx, then the line above FM xxx should be your language menu. Select it and it will bring you to the list of the language and you should be able to choose your preferred language again. Hope this helps
My computer will not reconize my sansa express and display is brk
What i would recommend you to do is to uninstall the device and
reinstall it back...to uninstall it...assuming that you are running windows xp...click on start, right click on my computer and go to properties..you should have your system properties open then click under hardware
then device manager...look for the sansa device..it usually located
under portable device..if its not showing there i would recommend you
to look for under disk drives and see if its there..right click on the device and click on uninstall...after you unintall it unplug your device from the computer....Then follow this link below to download
the porting
kit...http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A2E73160-E862-4F19-BB26-C0CAFE798955&displaylang=en
.Then check the mode of yuor device to make sure it sunder MTP not
msc...To check the mode go under menu, settings and choose usb mode...After you check the mode open up your windows media
player click on tools, options and click under privacy...clear the
history and caches...after you finish you can plug the device on the
back of the computer not the front then windows should recongnize it and it should work properly..if that doesnt solve the problems upgrade your windows media player to 11 even though you have done that already..and try to reconnect your device..make sure you have it connected on the back USB>>>
And if that doesnt work try to obtain the driver for your sandisk device go to
