Hello :
I recommend you to replace the battery . Problems with powering up the GoGear are often the result of an
exhausted battery. If you cannot power on the GoGear, charge the battery
with the supplied charger.
In some instances there is an error
with the device that is keeping it from powering on. Unlike the errors
that freeze the device, errors that keep it from powering on cannot be
cleared by pressing the "Reset" button. The errors need to be fixed by
using the "Firmware Manager." The Firmware Manager is a computer program
that restores your device to their factory conditions. You will be able
to use your device again after restoring it to factory conditions, but
you will lose all of the data on your GoGear.
To use the Firmware
Manager, open the installation CD supplied with your GoGear and follow
the onscreen instructions to install the Firmware Manager on your
computer. Plug the GoGear into the computer and check that your computer
is connected to the Internet. Open "Firmware Manager" on your computer.
You will be prompted to "Restore" the firmware or "Update" the
firmware. Since you need to restore your device to working order, select
the "Restore Firmware" option. Updating the firmware will not delete
the files or errors that are causing the GoGear to malfunction.
Once
the process is complete and your GoGear can power on again, consider
updating the firmware. Updates give your device extra functionality and
repair errors in the device.

My mp3 philips go gear shows the message: connect
if you still have the CD's the device manager is included with them. install it and use it. if you are using win xp sp3 or vista/win7 you will need to visit the site-->support page-->find your device and look for the device manager download. alternatively (worked for me on a 6gb) you can open my computer while the device is plugged in and recognized right click the philips mp3 icon and click format, this will erase all of your music and images but it should recover your mp3 player. if this does not work use the program from the site/your CD's

what model, you posted insufficient data on the player in question. it is more than likely that you do not have the capability to play video's on it. and if you do, the details should be in the documentation. supposing that you bought this second hand Philips is excellent at posting all the manuals on their support website easily accessible via www.philips.com hope this helps

My mp3 go gear wont play unless connected to
sounds like your battery is dead, i recommend if it is still under warranty (unlikely) you could call the support number and see if they can send a replacement battery if you need help with that i could walk you through it. however it is likely that your player is no longer covered by the warranty thus you will need to purchase a battery off of ebay just make sure it is the right one, i would recommend doing a quick google search to find out exactly what battery it will take. and go from there. also most likely there is atleast one guide that will step by step walk you through the battery change. hope that helps!

I have a phillips Gogear Area 4Gb Aria. When
if that is so complicated for you, i suggest you to use another converter.
If you have any difficulties in search, download or convert video/audio,
You may try this powerful and easy-to-use video/audio converter. It can help you convert video/audio, my friends recommend it to me, and it’s easy to use and works pretty well for me.
With it you can:
1: search videos and free music from popular online social media websites like YouTube, Dailymotion, and many others.
2: download music and videos that your are searching for
3: convert these videos/ audios to any format as you like.
you can find it here:

I`m not speak english very well my mp4 philips
You need to hold the reset button in for a few seconds, 3-6 seconds, now go to the slider for the power, push it as hard as you can :) Don't be a city boy with it, it should power up if it shuts right off repeat but link it up to your computer next time before it cuts off so it can recharge. How do you delete voice recordings
Deleting Files,Pictures,etc from MP3 Player
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps
Please rate me,
Thank You

My Go Gear Vibe is wet and i don't know how to fix it ?
If the thing is still under warranty, you might want to send it to the factory before taking it apart so they can do it for free. If not, you could try to remove the back cover and airing it out. If that is something you aren't comfortable with, better to send it in. Getting a device submerged in water like that is a bad thing of course. If you can air it out, and ensure it is totally dry, then you could try to plug it in and recharge it. ENSURE IT IS DRY. Then attempt to see if any information was lost.

Jfdkla;
I have the same problem right from day dot.... have found that using a
pin on the reset button gets it back on every time! But the problem
keeps coming back. I believe its a software bug on these units.
Have you tried using another USB port?
Did you reset the player? Just make sure the hold/lock is not engaged.
If nothing works then try downloading the latest version of the Philips
Device Manager.
You can also try removing the unit and trying to charge the battery
connecting it to a suitable DC power supply for a couple of hours.
i believe if it doesnt work till then its better to return the unit and get a new one if ur unit is still under warranty....
