First check the connection lead is good. Any fault on that will make any item become "unknown". If you still have problem get Windows to search fr the drivers for it and install them with the disc provided with the Zen.

I don't understand

I have a feeling your only option is to dismantle and try disconnecting the internal battery. You may lose the data.

you can go to a mp3 website and download or if you have music on your mp3 just simply go to where you play your music and hit sync from mp3 or the device

i dont know whats the format your player plays but you can try using a software call "allconverter"..
try on google and it will show you the link to download it..

This converter helps you convert your videos to any format, flv,avi,mpeg,mp4 etc..

dude well da case is simple wot ur tryn to do is add da music in da player to da player again, da player already is fuull wit around 4 gig so nly 3.5 is around is free so u cant add da same music again........ since is not enough space kkkk if u wann add more new music search da computer using the media explorer and add the new music to the music library and sync it with da player if dis doesnt work mail me your problem with further details.... kkkkkk [email protected]

1st, try plugging in your mp3 player to your computer and see if anything happens to the screen. If it stays white, then it is probably a hardware error and you should contact the manufacturer and see if you can get it fixed. If the screen changes to some icon, then its probably a software error and you should try to reset your device from the software that came with the mp3 player.
If neither of those options suit you, then you should try to remember what you did right before it went blank. If it was in your pocket or something and you sat on it, then the screen is probably broken. If you recently got a new SD card or similar storage device, then you should remove it and wee what happens. If it is a hardware issue then the only way to resolve it is to try to buy a replacement part online, or to send it back and try to get a replacement one at a lower cost.

change your battery . . the problem is your battery, the battery is damage by over charging. . . consult a technician to change the battery....

Hi there,there is a free down load on the creative website to replace the firmware http://support.creative.com/downloads/download.aspx?nDownloadId=11197 it worked for me.

To reset my Zen, I use a thumb tack and gentle insert the tip into the small hole in the bottom of the Zen player. It works everytime.

• To install this firmware update, do the following:
1. Download the ZenMicroP4S_PCFW_L16_2_21_02.exe file into your local hard disk.
2. Connect the player to your computer.
3. Double-click the firmware upgrade file and follow the instructions on the screen.
• If a dialog box appears, telling you that an application is interfering with the update process, do the following:
1. Launch Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer.
2. Click Tools -> Settings.
3. Click the Detector tab.
4. In the Device(s) to Detect window, make sure that the Enable Detector checkbox is not selected.
5. Restart your computer.
6. Install the firmware update again.

did you try to push the restart button? its an itty ***** button that you need a pin or a paper clip end
to push. And make sure you have charged it completely. You can also go on the Creative Labs website and see what they have in their FAQ section.

Connect the Zen to a PC via usb and see if it jump starts,if it doesn't then hit the Reset button(or rather, hole) at the bottom and booted again. It should start working again properly.

The battery in the unit needs replacing.

the device software that came with it should have an option under edit or file where it says create new playlist. however if it doesn't you can use winamp free from winamp.com to create one

There are instructions on youtube on how to open it, use a strong guitar pick rather than a screwdriver. When you do remove the wires from the battery by taking the sticky tape from the battery and solder to the battery rather than taking the wires from the circuit board easier that way.

just get a gas and burn your damn ez300 unit and buy a new one.. i hope this solves your problem
