Sky+HD won't record,pause ??
'Recording Unavailable', normally happens when there is no space left on the hard drive. If it won't play back sounds like you need to Contact Sky direct via phone and get the box replaced.
Could it be the tcon board?
I think that the Tcon board with what you are talking about for your TV could be not working and needs to be replaced. It would be more cheaper to buy a new TV than to try and fix the TV that you have that is not working.
Technically 32in won't come on
In most cases a set that is hard to get to come on but works ok once it's on is capacitor issues, as they warm up they start filtering, another way to confirm this is take a blow dryer and put it on the fins in the back of the set and heat up the left side looking from the back for about 3 mins and try to power the set on if it works it's cap issues, at that point you have 2 options, replace the defective caps yourself or replace the power supply. Chances are if you take the back off you will see caps that are round on the top, those are the bad ones
How do I remove the stand from my 42lg50 tv
If you mean the original stand, place the TV LCD panel down on a table that is covered with a soft cloth. Look at the bottom center of the back of the TV and remove the 4 Philips head screws. Once the screws are removed, pull the stand away from the TV. The base can be removed from the stand body by removing another 4 screws that are at the top of the stand body.
See page 12 of the user manual available from the LG support page: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-42LG50.AUS
. The current link to the manual is https://gscs-b2c.lge.com/downloadFile?fileId=KROWM000196216.pdf
I hope this helps. If you have put a third party VESA stand on the 42LG50, you may have to remove the TV from the stand to reach the mounting plate.
