I replace my Black ink

This issues looking printer head problem. check the following Steps for cleaning printer head :

Click on the Start button if you have Windows XP. If you have Windows Vista, click the Windows icon that resides in the lower left corner of your computer screen.

Click on "Control Panel," then "Printers and Other Hardware." Finally click on "View Installed Printers or Fax Printers."

Right-click on the name of your printer and choose "Printing Preferences." This should open a new window; next look for a tab or button marked Maintenance, or something similar.

Find the button that says "Print heads" or "Clean the Print heads" and click on it. You may be asked to choose which print heads; choose them all if you are. Make sure there is paper and ink in your printer, and that it is turned on ahead of time.

Take out the page your printer has printed and see if there are any grids or boxes missing. If there aren't, then you can just exit the program--your print heads are not clogged. If there are grids missing, then click on the "Cleaning" or similarly worded button.

Once the cleaning process has completed, print another page to be sure that your print heads are no longer clogged. If they are still clogged, repeat Steps 1-5 until your printer is printing clearly.

I installed a new black ink cartridge and it doesn't work.

  1. Open the cover of the Kodak 5300 printer. Take out the cartridges that are to be reset.
Find the filing hole. It will most probably be somewhere on the bottom or the rear of the ink cartridge.Moisten the syringe's needle and push it into the sponge all the way through the filling hole. Make sure you do not apply too much force, as the sponge will likely rip apart and consequently will cause clogs.
Keep the ink bottle on a stable surface. The syringe's needle is usually very delicate and thin. Slowly, squeeze the ink bottle to make the ink flow into its sponge. Again, do not apply a lot of pressure or the sponge might expand, which will cause the ink to come out disproportionately during printing.
  2. Squeeze the ink into its sponge until it starts to look moistened. Make sure you do not fill up too much.
  3. Use tissues for wiping the filling hole. Install the refilled ink cartridge on your Kodak2_bing.gif 5300 printer. You will hear a click when the cartridge installs at the right place.

Everything i print has lines in it and the color

With the Kodak 5300 the print heads are separate from the ink tanks and when you have printing issues where you have lines or the quality is poor you need to clean the print heads or in worse case scenario you would have to replace the heads.
Here are the steps to clean the heads:

To clean the Printhead from the control panel on the printer:
  1. Press the Menu button to display the Main Menu.
  2. Press the down arrow until Clean Printhead is displayed, then press OK.
    • For a basic clean, make sure Basic Clean is selected, then press OK.
    • For a deep clean, press the down arrow until Deep Clean is selected, then press OK.
To clean the Printhead from the KODAK All-in-One Home Center Software on your computer:
  1. Start the home center software.
  2. If the Help toolbar is not open, click the Help (?) icon in the upper-right corner of the window.
  3. From the Help toolbar, select Maintenance.
  4. Click Printhead Cleaning, and wait for the printer to complete the cleaning.

Hi,

in this case it's a failure of the printhead. Go to www.kodak.com/go/itg and choose All-in-one printer - Print quality. Follow the steps and if it not helps you get a side where you can order a printhead for free.

Blue and yellow will not print

Manually cleaning the printhead isnt difficult and could solve your problem. You need distilled or de-ionized water, tap water might work but i dont recomend it. You need a lint free cloth, dont use paper towels or anything that will leave material behind that will clogg the nozzls (a clean soft tshit should work tex Wipe lint free cloths work the best) . Heating the water will help. Remove the printhead look at the nozzles on the buttom. you should see 6 lines in a yellow area. you want to wipe with these lines not accross them. do not scrub or use circular motion. Wet the cloth area your going to wipe with well. put some pressure but dont break it and wipe a few times slowly. you can also soak the nozzles in warm or hot distilled water just only in very shallow water just enough to touch the nozzles do not submerge the whole printhead. you can also google manually cleaning inkjet printheads just use your best judgement some things people do to clean a printhead might damage them. If after manual cleaning and using the built in cleaning the prints1.gif still dont come out right call kodak and request a new printhead. I hope this helps! Don't Let this road bump turn you away from these printers they print nice prints and have low cost ink. Kodak and or I am not responsible for any data loss or any damage to any equipment that occurs as a direct or indirect result of following the procedures described above.

I can't get it to print the paper comes out blank,

I have the same problem brand new out of the box. Just called 1-800-421-6699. I told them I had done all the recommended remedies such as downloading new firmware, removing and reinstalling the printhead and reinstalling cartridges. He told me they were sending me a new printhead free of charge. He said the actual replacement cost is $77.00 but they were sending it free of charge and it would arrive in a few days by UPS. Very nice customer service guy in New Delhi. He was a little hard to understand sometimes but very helpful.

I cannot turn the printer off. The power button

Have you tried holding the power button in the off position for between 5 and 15 seconds, before letting it up again? Sometimes, manufacturers will build in a delay of sorts, to prevent acidental powering off of devices like printers and computers themselves.

Hold that off button in the off position for upwards of 5 seconds, and maybe to 10 or more seconds, to see if that does it.

Good luck.
