Hi all~ my zebra printer print blank non-stop everytime power on printer. we need send jobs first just can power on printer to stop printing blank non-stop.

When you power that printer on it will automatically calibrate which can kick out up to 6 feet(2 meters) of blank labels. After that is done if you have an issue it should display an error.

My zm400 keeps reverting back to direct thermal

did it stay on direct thermal if you not doing any print job ?
then i assume you the problem is when you printing .In ZEBRA DESIGNER, there's a printing preference that can be set up... i think u selected direct thermal when you print with zebra designer, that's why whenever u start printing, it show RIBBON IN again.
the solution is, Just changed the printing method from zebra designer.

if you aren't using zebra designer, then the problem at your driver. Open Printer & Faxes, then right click your Printer and klik on Printing Preferenced. There u can set up the printing method to Thermal Transfer.

The thing is....... changing the Setting from LCD panel won't change the setting on the driver.

i hope this will help you

I've got some problems with

The default setting is thermal transfer for this printer. You can change the setting on the printer so it doesn't show you the error any more by doing the following: Press SETUP/EXIT Press Plus (+) to scroll through the different parameters About the 6th parameter is "PRINT METHOD" Press "SELECT" to select the parameter Press Plus (+) or Minus (-) to change to Direct Thermal (no ribbon) Press "NEXT/SAVE" to save your changes If you make the changes to you printer and as soon as it prints it reverts back to thermal transfer, then your label software or your driver are overriding it and you need to make the change there.
Changing the setting in your label software - this will also change the settings for this label only Open your label Make the change under "label setup" or "page setup" inside your label software.
Changing the setting on the driver - this will also change the default settings for all future labels that you create Go to control panel and devices and printers. Locate the driver for your label printer and make the change under "Printing Preferences".

Change media type to "Direct Thermal"

Be sure that "use printer settings" is NOT selected at the top left

For ZM400 and S4M, Has anyone had any luck with

You can try this: on the S4M, you can press the Menu key to go into setup mode. Under password level 3 parameters, there is a setting for ribbon which by default is set to Yes thermal trans. If you set it to No for direct thermal mode, this will in effect turn off the ribbon sensor. The printer won't stop now if it runs out of ribbon but usually you are there when printing to see that the ribbon is running out.

On other Zebras, you can turn down the sensitivity of the RIBBON LED sensor but the S4M doesn't have that setting.

See if that helps.

Hi, My name is Hakan and I'm having trouble

If you are using a colored ribbon it might be too transparent for the ribbon sensor to read. Re-calibrate the ribbon sensor.
If you're using black ribbon and you're sure that it's loaded properly and the sensor isn't being blocked, then print a sensor profile and re-calibrate the sensors if necessary.

ZM400 printer

Try going through the LCD menu and if it say "Direct Thermal" change it to "Thermal Transfer", Direct Thermal made means, no ribbon required, but it sounds like you do have ribbon in the printer, if so, try my recommendation. If it asks for a password, it's '1234'.
