are you sure it's not just going into demo mode after you turn it off? There should be a button on the remote to turn on/off demo

this is a standard reset so if its a problem with the programming this should do the trick if it does not either your cd or laser lens is no longer doing its job properly

turn on the set-press the on stanby button,allow the set to enter demo mode. now press the power button while pressing the stop and eject button,clear all will display

The cause could be a blown fuse or the power transformer that has a built in thermal fuse has opened preventing power to the rest of the stereo. The main unit must be taken apart to assess the amount of work needed and to check for secondary problems.

Use rubbing alcohol and a Q-Tip to clean battery terminals,and use fresh batteries.
