Will not allow men to
Ask a woman to do it. I had the exact same problem, so I asked my co-worker, and dragged and dropped the files without any issue.

I have a Panasonic HDC-SD5
HDC-SD5 + iMac = perfect compatibilityI have an iMac (early 2011).-I remove the SDHC card from the camera-plug the card directly into the iMac SD slot (Below the CD/DVD slot) -wait 5 seconds till iMovie or Final Cut X download high-quality HD video.I was digitizing video on a Mac IIx back in the late 1980's, a long, tiresome error-ridden process that only just worked. The tools we have today are brilliant.Anybody wanting to do serious or hobby video on a computer needs one of Steve Jobs' babies. No downloads of drivers, no conversions, no installation.Just plug 'n play.Hope this helps

I have Panasonic HDC-SD5 and
You should run the camera in to a camera repair facility, and see what they think. I would think a ribbon connector might need reseating, which would require disassembly. Get an estimate before having it fixed, since it can be high.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Panasonic SD5 won't focus after being dropped.
Hi Violet. I'm afraid I don't have any good news about this kind of problem, and I'll tell you why. When the cam won't focus, it's usually a problem with the lens assembly, and the fact that you can't zoom verifies that. There are a lot of small plastic parts in the lens assembly that can break easily, or get jammed. When that happens, service is required on the unit, to replace the broken part, or reset the assembly, but often they just replace the whole lens assembly. Is it still under some kind of warranty? In that case, I would have to looked at. If you do choose to get it fixed, and you have no warranty, get an estimate first. Repair costs can be high, and at that point you have to decide whether to repair it, or get another cam. Wish I had better news for you, but hope this helps in your decision of what to do next. Good luck, and be careful, these cams are great, but delicate!

HD writer will not write to disc
I just used HDWriter today to copy a film I took from a new Panasonic HDC-HS250K to DVD. It took about 30 minutes to complete, and the movie was only 1 Gb; about 5-10 minutes of HD. I used a Memorex DVD+R that I happen to have from a couple years ago. The video looks very good played back on my PC or HD TV using a regular DVD player (not blue ray). I don't happen to have any other DVD except for the 2 sided which I hate to use for the short videos. So in looking to buy some more I'm concerned that DVD-R might not work so well. I've read some conflicting reviews about that. Anyway just wanted to let you know that the DVD+R worked fine.
