Sanyo vpc-s1275 saying lens error 0x0311
Apologies for
the extreme delay in answering, I've just been specifically searching
for old unanswered questions. I realise that the information is probably
far too late for you, but it may help others searching the site for
answers to the same problem.
Your camera has a lens error,
this
is such a common fault that I hope you don't mind me pasting my stock
generic answer below. No point in reinventing the wheel!
Stuck lenses are probably the most common
reason that compact digital cameras get thrown away, but there's a fair
chance of recovering use of your camera again
The fault is
commonly caused by dirt or grit blocking the mechanism, or due to it
having suffered a recent fall. Another common cause is that the camera
was in a pocket or bag and the power button accidentally activated and
tried to open the lens against resistance. The mechanism may have simply
become
dislodged or there may be parts which have broken.
If your camera
is still under warranty and has definitely not been subject to misuse
then contact the Sanyo service department in your country to find out about a free repair. If
the warranty has expired though a professional repair will far exceed
the
cost of replacing your camera. You will therefore have nothing to lose
by
trying to fix this yourself.
Please click here
and you will be taken to an excellent article provided by the Camera
Repair website. For the most part, you'll be guided on how to physically
manipulate your camera to try and clear the fault. Although the article
mentions Canon a few times, the advice applies equally to all cameras
with lens errors and is not model-specific.

Hello
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair
center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.
You can also have a look at THIS link.
Hope
the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Andrea

Hi there,
Well lens errors are very common in these digital cameras. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism.
Check the below link to do a try to correct it -

If further you have the same problem it means there is a gear-motor alignment of the lens which moves in and out with the help of motor. This part is replaceable at an authorized Sanyo Service Center. Aprox repair cost is $120.
Good Luck!!
I have no image in Camera mode on my Sanyo cg6. I
I can think for only 2 possibilities for said symptoms in camera.
Either stuck / closed aperture or bad CCD Imager chip (ccd imager converts an image to electronic signal for further processing circuits) These are common reasons of blank/ black background in live view mode in camera.
You can observe aperture open/ close with close look into lens of camera, turn power On-Off. Aperture will behave as eye is being open and close right in center of camera lens. Good amount of light is needed to observe aperture function in lens mechanism. If you see eye-opened with power on and closed with power off then its bad ccd iamger chip behind that aperture that does not convert image into electronic signal and requires replacement.
Nearest Sanyo service center will fix it because they have ccd imager.
Thanks.

Hi,
I bought a new Xaxti CG 65 and the AV Jack is not working with headphones or the supplied AV cable.
I can´t connect it to TV and watch playback from a TV screen. I check the cable with testing instrument, all cords does work well. What problem can by?
Best regards,
Arvo from Estonia
AV jack
The jack itself may be defective, there may be a cold solder connection on the circuit board, or the driver circuit to the jack is defective. The unit will have to be serviced to fix the fault.

Broken glass on the lens
Are you kidding? A camera lens are a group of various lenses inside. I don't think it's repairable, but I'd say take it to a local photography store and you can get free advice. I think I understood you, but anyone would have to see the damage in person. From here, I'd say you are in bad luck...it's a goner. Also cameras are not designed to take a big fall like that. There is probably more damage than just the lenses.
Hi i have a sanyo hi 8 camcorder 25 plus years old and it loads and ejects and tape flashes continually whats the oroblem
It sounds like your Sanyo camcorder may be experiencing a problem with the loading or ejecting mechanism. This could be caused by a number of issues, including a damaged or broken cassette mechanism, a malfunctioning loading or ejecting motor, or a problem with the camcorder's control board.
To troubleshoot the issue, you could try the following:
- Make sure the camcorder is clean and free of any debris or obstruction.
- Check the cassette for damage, such as broken or bent spindles, and make sure it is properly seated in the camcorder.
- Try using a different cassette to see if the problem persists.
- If the problem persists, you may need to have the camcorder repaired by a professional.
Keep in mind that due to the age of your camcorder, it may be more cost-effective to purchase a new one rather than repair the old one. However, if the camcorder has sentimental value or is no longer in production, repair may be the best option.

There is a pulley that breaks inside but as these have been obsolete for over 20 years, I doubt it is repairable any more.
