Infinity Reference 1600a Car Audio Amplifier - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How do i wire a single sub at 4 ohms? which
If your single sub is a 4 ohm sub, you just connect + and - on the amp to the corresponding + and - terminals on the sub.
If it's a dual voice coil sub, it would have to be 2 ohms per voice coil or 8 ohms per voice coil to be able to achieve a 4 ohm load.
This will show you exactly how you'd need to do it:

How do I hook up my infinity 1600a at 2ohms with 2 4ohm speakers?
Placing the speakers next to each other face down, you will notice that the connection points run in sequence +- and +-. Now connect the - (negative) from the one speaker, to the + (positive) of the other speaker. Now connect the open + from the one speaker and the open - from the other speaker to your amp. Your amp should have a bridging indication. On the connection points of the amp, you should see a mark pointing to the first + and the last -. That will be your bridge and thus utilizing the full potential of your amplifier

My protect light came on, how do i fix it?
Check your wiring to make sure non of the wires are touching ground. If one or more of your speakers are blown, it could cause an open or short (or throw the impedence of the speaker(s) way out of specs). One way to tell if your speaker's voice coil is blown is to physically move the cone in and out from as close to the edges of the dust cover of the speaker coil as possible (not on the dust cover) keeping equal pressure on all sides. If you hear a gritty sound, it could mean your speaker's voice coil is history. On most high-powered amps, it's important that you're not using a common ground (some older inexpensive car units did this so you'd only have to run a single wire to each speaker and use the car body as the ground point for each speaker). I doubt seriously your system does this, but that's why it's important to make certain that the speaker wires are not grounded. You can disconnect the speaker wires from your amp and check each wire for continuity to ground with an ohmmeter.
Also, check the ground point of your amp...if it powers up, the source voltage is probably okay, but there's nothing wrong with running a cable directly from the battery just to make sure.
Good luck...

Infinity 1600a cuts out wit real low bass when turned up load
With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp (not on the point where the ground wire connected to the vehicle), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage drops below ~11 volts on either terminal when you drive the amp hard, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is dropping too low.

[5] Left Front Door Spkr (+) DG
[1] Left Front Door Spkr (-) BR/RD
[9] Right Soundbar Speaker (+) DB/WT
[3] Right Soundbar Speaker (-) DB/OR
[6] Right Front Door Spkr (+) VT
[2] Right Front Door Spkr (-) DB/RD
[4] Power Amp Relay Feed DG/RD
Harness 2:
[05] Right Soundbar Spkr (+) TN/RD
[13] Right Soundbar Spkr (-) TN/BK
[06] Left Soundbar Spkr (+) WT/TN
[14] Left Soundbar Spkr (-) WT/BK
[11] Passenger Door Spkr (+) LB/RD
[10] Passenger Door Spkr (-) LB/BK
[04] Drivers Door Spkr (+) DG
[12] Drivers Door Spkr (-) LG/RD
[01] Power Amp Feed
[02] Power Amp Feed
[07] Power Amp Ground
[08] Power Amp Ground
The tweeters run in parallel off of the door speakers.... If I can help any more let me know.
