Polaroid CAA-03040S Camcorder Questions & Answers
My camcorder indicates there is an sd card but will not record to it
Check to make sure the type of SD. card matches what the maufacturer calls for. Also the SD card may need to be formatted before you can record to it. Check your intruction manual to find out how to format the card. One last thing to check is if the SD card is locked. Usually on one of the corners there is a sliding tab used to protect and unprotect against recording over any material that may be on the card. Hope this helps.

The lcd screen stays lit
So, you need to have the sensor replaced. It would be best if you took it at an authorized service center.

After putting fresh batteries in, the video
first thing to check is to make sure you put the batteries in the right way.
but the problem is usually the type of batteries used.
make sure you use the batteries suggested to use in the manual.
if you use cheaper batteries the problem does happen. if you are using high end batteries then the problem is sometimes a short in the camera and its shutting down to protect itself from further damage. you will have to take it in for repair.
hope this helps.

Every time i try to use it it says card protect
SD cards have a small slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Camera only works without the sd when the card is
Hi!
Try to reformat the the SD card. You can do this by inserting it on a card reader and then plug it on your PC. When the computer sees the card, go to My Computer, right click the SD card and then click Format.

My camera is broken
Well, I hate to say it but that sounds like a job where you're going to have to pry open the shell, or take it to an electronics shop and have them do it. What most likely happened is that one of the wires, resistors, Capacitors (the capacitor makes an electric current larger, resistor makes it smaller) was disconnected, so the power cannot get the the motherboard (main "computer") and power the camera.

Cant find pics
The simplest solution is to buy a cheap SD card reader and connect it to your computer. Then put the SD memory card from the camera in the reader. Windows XP will open a dialogue window asking you what you want to do with the pictures.
The caa-03040s has a relatively slow USB connection. Get a USB 2.0 card reader and connect it to a USB 2.0 port on the computer for much faster download speeds than the camera is capable of.
