Cant find pics
The simplest solution is to buy a cheap SD card reader and connect it to your computer. Then put the SD memory card from the camera in the reader. Windows XP will open a dialogue window asking you what you want to do with the pictures.
The caa-03040s has a relatively slow USB connection. Get a USB 2.0 card reader and connect it to a USB 2.0 port on the computer for much faster download speeds than the camera is capable of.

Polaroid CAA 03040S Camcorder no sound during playback
The camcorder sound can be set to one of ten levels, with 0 being no sound at all.
Turn the camcorder on and let it boot up. Press the Mode button. Move the cursor to the bottom icon, the "hammer and screwdriver." Press the Menu button to select this icon. Now use the down arrow button to scroll down to "Volume." Now press the menu key to select this, and you can check/set your volume as you wish.

Screen shuts off
It's supposed to shut off to conserve battery life. The camera will display on the tv screen instead. Make sure your tv is on the right channel for external source (ex/ video front).

Memory
In "playback" mode push the "still" button for taking stills. It is on the top of the camer anear the lens.

Card Protected
take the card out it will have a switch on the side of it that locks and unlocks

Screen says Error
Contact polaroid. You have a 1 year warrenty from date of purchace; also you should keep the receipt handy while calling them.

Memory card
Make shure the SD card isn't damaged, also make shure your SD card is SD not SD-HC.

Polaroid CAA-03040 Digital Video Camera
If your camcorder came with a usb cable then plug it into the slot then select DISK mode on the camera, you will then see a removable disk in my computer.
If you are going to use the camera as a webcam then you should contact polaroid.
