My camera hums and vibrates and then my photos are

On Sony T100 and similar,
its the vibration canceling unit, i had the same problem.
if you have good hads you can fix it.( on your oun risk)
1) disasamble the camera, you will see black plastic box inside, this is he lens unit.
2) on the botom you see 2 scrwes, they are holding the CCD remove them and the ccd unit will come from the lens assembly
3) the next is the stabilizer unit it is the problematic one. it is located on the left side of the lens asebly and is held by 2 screws.
you can test it by puling out the cable connected to it (the conector is just under the lens) and verifign that the problem is solved. ( you can leave it this way it will shoot fine just without the anti shake)
4) to fix it take it out ,remove the plastic cover, you see the lens on a plastic mount it should be glued to the magnet under it. the problem is that the glue fals apart.
remove one of the pins on wich it slides, and take the lens and the magnet out.
5) reglue the magnet and reasemble the camera.
6) power up and test, for me that solved the problem

if you need more help you can mail me at adisarit(et)yahoo(dot)com
this is spam mail so be prepared to wait a few days for reply.
i have a document with pictures explaining the process

Hi I need to change the

Press "Home" in the top left corner to get to the home screen.
andythechikn_11.png
Then choose "Settings" (it's the icon that looks like a toolbox)
andythechikn_12.png
Then choose the language setting (It should be in that position even if it says it in Chinese, and the "A" icon should also be the same).

Hopefully when you get to the language screen, English should be in english... it usually is!

How to conect to pc

hallo ,In case you have not figured this out yet-

There is a multi-connector that is supplied with the camera. One end goes to the bottom of the camera. The other end has 2 connectors that you use for connecting to a TV and a USB connector for viewing on a computer.

Here is a link to the manual try-

See page 9, 19, 20 and 30....

Are you sure that the battery is charged? Did you pull the front of the camera down, this switches on the camera. You might be pressing the power button on top only and it must be giving you an error to open the lens.

This is from another older camera's manual but the method of switching on is same.

When i turn my camara on, it says memory card

Why does my camera say "Card Locked" or "Write Protected"?

The basics. In the same way that the recordings on audio cassettes and VHS tapes could be protected by breaking off the little tab on the back corner, the material on a memory card can be protected against being overwritten. Instead of a tab to break off, write protection is done by a tiny slider on the edge of the card (opposite the cut corner). Before the camera will take pictures, it's necessary that this slider on the card operates a microswitch in the camera, which it will only do if it's NOT in the 'lock' position. The slider actually does nothing inside the card, which is why I don't call it a 'switch' even though it seems like one. Its only purpose is to be detected by the microswitch in the camera's slot, and it's the camera that takes care of the write protection, not the card.

Diagnosis.
Obviously the first thing to do is to check that the slider is NOT in the lock position. If the camera is giving you this error in the unlock position, it means that the slider has failed to operate the microswitch, or that the microswitch itself is faulty, or possibly that there's some file system error with the card. To diganose the problem, it would be really helpful if you could try two or more different memory cards in the camera and see if just one, or all of them exhibit the problem.

If only one memory card exhibits the problem: In this case, it's clearly something to do with the memory card. Is the slider worn, bent or missing? A missing slider will write protect the card in the same way that sliding it to the 'lock' position will. There's another possibility. I've recently discovered that
some cameras which use xD-Picture cards also give this error even though those cards don't even have lock sliders! Furthermore, some users have reported fixing this error by reformatting the card. Therefore, I feel it's also possible that your error may be fixed by reformatting. Before you do this, make sure that you've copied all you want off the card and then use the camera's 'format' function to reformat the card. I advise using the camera for the format function because this guarantees the correct file system. If you use your computer to format it, you may easily get the wrong one. However if you need to do it this way, see which file system is currently in use on the drive before you start. Go to "My Computer" and right click on the drive which is the memory card, and choose "Properties". Examples of filesystems are "FAT" (probably FAT16), "FAT32" and NTFS; to make sure your reformat is successful, ensure you use the same filesystem as before.

If some memory cards work, and others don't, or the same cards sometimes work but only sometimes:
The slider is really tiny, so it's possible that the number of people reporting this error is caused by lack of precision in manufacturing sizes. It must be hard to make a microswitch that can feel such a small thing. Does a better brand of card work? Can you bear to simply stick to the better brands, or the ones that work most reliably? As a remedy of last resort, you could try wrapping a small strip of sticky tape over the slider to increase its thickness, but I think this is a risky solution. There's a risk that the tape will come off in the slot and cause even more problems, or that the tape will be so thick that the card will jam in the slot and you'll have trouble getting it out.

If all of your memory cards behave in the same way: In this case, it's clearly something to do with the camera. It could be that the microswitch is broken, or there's some software error. Although it's less likely, let's cover the software error first; please find the 'system reset' function in your settings menu and use it to clear everything. Any good? If not, try the sticky tape solution in the last paragraph in the hope that it's a size/fit problem with operating the microswitch, but if that fails we're out of options really, beyond a repair of that microswitch.

Buy a used camera through ebay (sold for parts, but with good screen ) and replace the screen yourself. If you are lucky, you can get it under $10 - 15. Repair through store will be more expensive.

Would it be worth the money to fix the broken

Not sure where you are in the world but in Canada the repair would be about $80.00 plus our taxes so it's iffy on repair. I'd suggest not repairing and invest in newer technology. Also I'd keep the camera you have for an outdoor camera I'd beat the heck out of a cell phone grab shot. When looking for a replacement I would suggest looking into Olympus, Canon, Nikon and Pentax models. The newer compact cameras have tons of features so you really need to research them. Cheers best of luck with your new camera

When I connect the camera

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Flash off, no flash

I had exactly the same problem, very annoying.
The camera does not need a new tube, transformer or flash board, it only thinks that you are in the wrong mode and won't let you turn on the flash. Do the following to avoid the problem:
1. Touch "menu" then under the "rec mode" change from Burst to NORMAL.
2. Touch the flash icon and now it will be possible to turn the flash on...

Hello, My camera had been taking

On your camera, look for settings. You must have set it on "Large" or "Max" picture quality. Thus making your 'normal' 800kb into a more better quality.

On your laptop/computer try to open it in a image editor and change the resolution of the picture.
