Can I import camera pics to a Dobly Home Theater laptop, by Acer?
First a nitpick: your memory card is Memory Stick Pro Duo, it's not an SD card. Secure Digital is one specific type of memory card, distinct from xD, CF, Memory Sticks, and other memory card types.Okay, not that I've got that off my chest, yes you can import pics to your laptop. Just connect a card reader to the USB port and then put your Memory Stick into the reader. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files.Card readers should be available at just about any department, electronics, or office-supply store. One important point to remember is to make sure you get a card reader that can read Memory Stick Pro Duos. If you get, for example, an SD card reader, it won't do you any good.

Hi
I have been using my
If there is no display of the image then it can be due to failure of the LCD or the CCD which is the optical sensor of the camera. So to confirm check the older picture to be seen on the display. Confirm this by checking the card on your PC. If the display is not seen, then the LCD can be faulty, fault on the linking cable or the control board.
However if the older images are seen well then the LCD is working correctly and the fault can be failure of the CCD- charge coupled device in the camera. If you have accidently exposed the camera directly to high intensity light / sunlight, then it is possible that it is damaged. Remove the battery and keep the camera aside to reset and try as a last resort. Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.Thank You for using fixya
My flash won't turn on!
Mine was doing the same thing but I noticed (after playing around with it for a while) that I had the "REC Mode" on BURST and not NORMAL. When I set it back to NORMAL the FLASH options returned. Select MENU on the main display and the first option will look like a picture frame or multiple picture frames. You want it to look like the single picture frame for the FLASH option to be available.
I need a battery door
Hi,
Sometimes people will list parts like that on Kijiji when their camera has died however with the battery doors on those Sony's you have to disassemble the entire camera in order to install the new battery door. If you're not comfortable with that I'd suggest sending it in to get repaired, if you let me know your location I can suggest somewhere to take it.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

The slide cover is very fragile and usually gets jammed quite easily. Try seeing if there's any dust or dirt stuck between the slide and try to clean it out. If it seems extremely hard to move and doesn't seem to budge, I'd advise you to not try to fix it at home and contact Sony so they can fix the sliding mechanism. If you apply too much pressure and try to fix the hinge yourself, it's more than likely you'll cause more harm than good.

Typically, for a camera service center to even open the case and diagnose the problem is a minimum charge of $100 to $150. Add the cost of parts to fix the issue and you'll be looking at an additional $50-100.
This particular model camera is old enough that Sony may not even have parts available to fix it, in which case you're still out the fee to have it diagnosed.
On the other hand, if you have a square trade warranty or a manufacturer's warranty still in effect on the camera, you might be okay - An intermittent problem like this would indicate a defect and would be covered.
The last possibility is to get a quote from your local camera repair shop - Most major cities of 100,000 or more will have at least 1.
