When it does not power up, just start checking the fuse. When you have a multimeter, you can check if the power still comes in the tv. Also go on to check if the on / of switch does work correct. But if you don't have electronic skills at all, please ask a technician, because inside the tv you can find lots of places where the high voltages can harm or even can kill you.
