if neither solution works, id say the digitizer is bad (the touch screen) but the update normally cures this problem!

This sounds like more then just a battery problem. How long have you owned the unit? I would consider either having it repaired or replaced. If it is out of warranty then they do not service them. But they do have a trade in program where you can purchase a new one at a discounted rate.

Basically this is because this is throw away technology and the units are getting so inexpensive now. That repair definitely costs more then just replacing the unit.

make sure you have it set to the right region. this gps should have usa,Alaska and Hawaii

make sure green light is on the car charger and let it plugged in forawhile, then hold the power button (upto ten seconds) until itstarts..if that fails


the following magellan2000,2200t,2500,3000,3100,3140,4000,4040 and the 4050 are known to havefaulty dc connectors...if your magellan gpsis not charging or will not power up, its most likely the dc powerport...i sell these power ports and will repair them for anyone thats notable to do it themselves.

To protect the internal battery the GPS device will not power on until the battery is recharged to a specific level. You will have to charge up the battery before attempting to powering on the GPS device even when connected to external power. If charging the battery for an extended period of time does not resolve the issue please contact support online through chat at http://www.magellangps.com/support. Thank you.

If your unit does not power on - at all - it may be a faulty power cord/adapter. If no longer under warranty, you can sometimes find replacement cords on Ebay for around $10-20. If you do get power, sometimes updating the unit (through your computer) will solve the problem. If that doesn't help, the company offers online chat support and a support number, 800-707-9971, to get you going again. Good luck.

Guess what they reset differently, more info such as model would help. You can also go to there web site and look at the manual.

Make sure You use the proper CABLE, both looks the same BUT plugs are different.
