Cd's keep skipping

The laser pickup assembly is the problem, the stepper rail that the laser is mounted on is driven by a worm gear that often cracks or developes a flat spot causing the pickup skip and jump, also what must be taken into account is the laser has become weaker over a period of time. If repairs are going to be performed replace the whole assembly everything is new and comes pre-aligned when installed.

D500 plays with muted sound

Please check the power to the circuits, it is possible that the voltage to the preamp section is reduced and so there is low amplification. You will need to inject a AF- audio frequency - signal to trace the loss of amplification.

Input fuse blows on switch

In most power supplies, if the input fuse blows that fast it's because of some shorted component right at the AC input. Check for shorted rectifier diodes and filter capacitors. Both are common failures, especially if the equipment has been subjected to power line surges. If the power supply checks out OK, shorted output devices in the amplifier section is the next most likely cause. Check for low resistance on the outputs of the power supply. It's helpful to have a schematic diagram of the receiver for troubleshooting, and you can often service manuals or other information free or at reasonable prices on the Internet.

Is is closing properly if you open/close drawer without any cd.The cd tray,in which you place the cd.That tray moves on the rails. The gears spins on the rails and drawer open and close.Lube that gears and rails with white grease. Also with your hand manually push the drawer to close position. And once it closes, then with your hand keep the drawer pressed, then see if its playing the disc.Dont do this with force,do it gently. Also take care that cd stays in the tray properly and does not get misaligned from its tray, while you manually push the tray/drawer to close. ------------------- Check out.Keep updated. This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Failed power transformer

With out make and model, I can not supply parts information. Please update this with that info. Also, depending upon the age of the unit, parts may not be available. Are you sure that the problem is the transformer? This part is rare to fail.

How to disassemble mx5020 speaker?

Greetings, Please check the handbook of your device to see if there are diagrams highlighting the location of the screws for the speakers. Once located, you can start by using a screwdriver to remove those screws and open up the device. Otherwise, you might need to work with an electrician or possibly a pawnshop to help get the device open. Thank you.

Motorola DCP-501 All-In-One Home Theater Receiver will not come on at all?

Check the power source and if you can get behind the switch, check for continuity. Make sure that the device is properly connected to a power source and that the outlet is functioning. You can test the outlet by plugging in another device. Check the power cable and make sure that the power cable is properly connected to the unit and the power source. Also, check for any damage or fraying on the cable. Check the power switch to ensure that the power switch is turned on. It is possible that it might have been turned off accidentally. Try resetting the device by disconnecting it from the power source, waiting for a few minutes, and then plugging it back in. If all those fail, you will need to take to an audio engineer.
