The tv goes into standby

That sounds like what happens when a TV gets firmware updates, but there's usually a message.

Sony 3 LCD KDF

Hello
The problem now too is with lamp itself. I don't know, whether you have repalce the lamp inverter at the time of previous lamp replacement. Lamps are energized for the high voltage generated by the lamp inverters. If lame inverter has some winding shorts in it, it wont give life to lamp. It is a general practice that the inverter is repalced along with lamp. Just replace it, and replace the lamp, otherwise the the lamp you are going to replace also son't last long. OK.

Before i changed the bulb

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors. Many electronics companies were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional

2. Open your TV and find PSB. Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

I have a tip/tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. It's called: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem.

Hope this helps and Good luck.

Tv nt coming on red light is on next to power

hello. it sound's like you need to replace the lamp in your set. and here is how to do it the right way. rember to all ways unplug your set.. # 1 first. .Remove the outside lamp cover. The lamp cover is located on the right side of the Sony television. To remove the lamp cover, simply pull down. You will now have access to the lamp housing. # 2 Open the lamp housing door by turning the locking handle counterclockwise while pulling the door toward you # 3 Pull the lamp unit straight out of the television unit. Be sure not to touch the bulb, as it may still be hot. # 4 Slide the replacement bulb into the lamp housing. # 5 The lamp will slide securely into place.!!! "Do not" touch the new bulb as it will cause damage to the bulb and result in malfunction. # 6 Push the lamp door back into place. Turn the locking knob clockwise to secure the door in place.# 7 Slide the outside lamp housing cover back into place on the television.!!! plug your set back in to the wall & The television is now ready for use. thank you

The bulb going 3 times in four years can this

well to be honest with you it could happen if you purchase a generic bulb they will only last around 1year to 1.5 years always buy Philips the other problem that you may have could be the ballast board if for any reason it is sending to much voltage to the lamp it will make the lamps burn out much faster
If you want to fix this problem I would replace the ballast board ( around $60.00dls - $80.00dls) and also replace the lamp ( $115.00dls - $140.00dls ) this store has the Philips lamp

I Have a Sony KDF-E50A10, It turns on for about 5

thats a very nice set ... it has 3 LCD stages that give it a really nice wide range picture .. your trouble is caused by a worn out projection lamp ...you can change the lamp yourself if you are handy that way.. . the lamp you need is a sony XL2400 .. it goes in a cubby in the back of the set ... listed below is one supplier of that lamp . you might get a little better price if you look around the internet but add in shipping if not included.. the new lamp should last about 6-8,000 hours and cost about $150 on the internet .. much more from a dealer or service shop ..

http://www.onecall.com/productdetails.aspx?id=29755

dont get finger prints on the new lamp glass areas .. make sure the old lamp is not hot before servicing .

I have a Sony KDFE50A10 50 inch HDTV

Hi,if its a an LCD RPTV it sounds like a light engine problem.Basically your tv uses 3 LCD chips that create the image .Each chip is like a tiny screen that blend together to get the colors and picture right. They are green, red and blue. When they start to fail you will start to get color discoloration or vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine.God bless you!

My sony tv bravia model klv 32v400A has no picture but the mauns light turns from red to green using the remote. What is the problem please?

This TV is 10 years old and probably requires a service that replaces the backlight invertor or just a power supply issue. Check to see if the light blinks. (That is the fault code and then google the result for more information).
