WD-65734 shuts down code 38

The sensor is usually right by the lamp, somewhere by the housing. There were a few bad batches of temp sensors and some others where the temp sensor connector went bad (hardwiring fixed those) . it usually has yellow wires and should be a short (0 ohms) if good, open (infinite ohms) if bad

Code 38

I was told after a lot of research that there is a temp sensor for the bulb in the TV that goes bad or gets to hot due to a foam screen that's intention is to prevent dust from entering the tv getting clogged with dust.

  1. Unplug the tv
  2. locate the cooling air foam filter housing. it's in the the center of the back of the tv right in the middle of the audio video connections.
  3. depress the little tab for the filter retainer which looks just like the tab you depress to open the battery cover on your remote.
  4. remove the foam filter and clean by beating it against something or wash it and dry it thoroughly and reinstall.
  5. Then give it a shot
  6. if this doesn't work it's probably the thermal sensor for the bulb. *Note: Mitsubishi know's about this problem and will pay for a Mitsubishi factory authorized service Tech to come out and repair this problem free of charge.
  7. to find a Service center in your area call 1-800-332-2119 follow prompts just input your zip code when prompted and it will give you the service centers closest to you.

My tv blinks 6x red and 1x yellow. whats that mean?

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. https://homenol.blogspot.com/ https://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ If blinks continue without any pause, or the LED light stationery; the main board is faulty. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; [Exclude the model number], in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts. How to replace the main board on a mitsubishi WD-60C8

Basing the replacement of the board on the clicking sound of a relay trying to close is not a safe bet. The first thing you need to do is check the bulb. Then there is a ballast board and then the Power supply board. Parts might be hard to find. Use the website I listed to see what part numbers are then google it or look on eba or amazon for those parts. Mitsubishi WD 60C8 TV Parts
