Panasonic PT-56LCZ70 56" HDTV Questions & Answers
Tv blinks green for a few seconds then u hear a exhaust sound and then the lamp light turns red and shuts down.
Check the high voltage circuit. The TV has a chip that checks all the circuits before allowing to turn on. My Samsung had only a high voltage of 380 votes DC at the capacitor. Samsung has 3 boards, inputs (control), video and power boards which has 120 volts enter leading to a fuse, then a small high voltage transformer, with a capacitor - 100 uf rated at 450 volts. Found two capacitors - 150 uf and 220 uf rated at only 400 volts and connected them in parallel and measured the voltage showing 391 volts. The TV worked again. Good lucky

How can I fix my television?
One thing to look for is overheating. Is the TV shrouded and hot to the touch? This is the symptom for overheating but it could be other problems too, such as a broken intermittent connection and also a bad or failing electronic part in the video channel. In any case, quite likely not user fixable.
But 1st check the obvious. Did you make any changes to inputs, hookups or position of TV? Are any inputs lose or bent (TV set top box, DVD, etc). IE, make sure it is the TV and not an input. Try an external input (from DVD etc) and see if that works the same.
If the TV works with an external DVD on any other input (HDMI, RGB, VGA etc) you may ba able to just swap around inputs to bypass the bad input channel.

How do i replace burned out lamp
It's very simple, on the back of the TV you will find a square vented plastic cover held in by 4 screws. Remove the screws, you'll now see the lamp housing being held in by 1 or 2 screws. Remove the screw (or screws) you'll now see the lamp housing, it has a metal handle that pulls the lamp (and housing) straight out of it's slot. I purchased mine at Lamp Monsters on Amazon (Samsung Lamp with Housing BP96-01600A) for about $30.00. You will see them priced from 30 bucks up to and above $300 bucks! Good luck I hope this helps! Lamp or Power issue Panasonic PT56lcz70
I would think that the fact that when you held the power button in for a long time that would give you a hint! If the power button is making a poor contact there will be a small surge of power and some parts of the internal circuits will respond(indicator lights, for example). Try REPLACING THE ON/OFF BUTTON.
