Hi, since you have detected the the smell of the overheating motor, then the motor is faulty which is why the belt is not turning. You should change th motor ASAP...........

Either the on off switch is bad or become loose.
Or the motor itsself is not getting voltage or may be burned up.
Best place to get a eureka vacuum techical manual.
ofen it is the power switch is stuffed you may need to replace it... some vacums with foot switches to turn on and off get broken due to people standing on them to hard etc.... it bends the contacts in the switch... hope this helps
Our vacuum cleaner is not
Have you checked to see if the belt is broken, or perhaps just stretched out to the point its not properly spinning the brushroller underneath the head of the unit?
My vacuum stop suction
Usually, the tube leading from the sweeper head up into the bag gets plugged. Remove the bag and the bottom cover plate of the sweeper to check the air passage at the rear of the sweeper. Use a hooked wire to dig out any clogs and check the air tube coming into the bag for any clogs on that end. Take the vacuum outside without the bag and turn it on to make sure the air is moving freely (it's likely to be quite dusty for a moment or two). Don't allow the bag to fill completely to help prevent re-occurrence. Hope this helps!
