The software or firmware of your device could be corrupted. You need to contact the manufacturer and have them upgraded the firmware of your MP3 and it should resolve the issue.

Philips SA 5125 MP3 Player turns off and on when connected to PC
try doing a reset on it flip it over and near the bottem right corner of the player theres a pinhole put a paperclip or something stiff and small in the hole and hold it for about 15 secons and see if that helps or you can put it into recovery mode by holding the volume up key while connecting it to your pc

Gogear 1gb-player problem, player connect to
Use the player to do the format. If you use the computer's operating system to format the Gogear you may delete critical files for the device or change the file system so the device cannot communicate with it's memory. If you are having difficulty communicating with the device it could be a driver or software issue. Make sure the device's drivers are installed and up to date. Make sure you have the proper software for the device installed. You could also try and update the firmaware of the device. These updates will be available from the Phillips website.
