Most of these types of cameras have a spring on the underside of the flash that either breaks or slips off the connection on one side or the other. You may be able to locate it and slip it back on.
If you are not able to fix it, I'd recomend taking it in to a repair shop. It is a simple repair and covered by warranty. Even out of waaranty it should not cost too much.

If your looking at the back of the camera, at the screen on the back, on the right side, near the corner of the screen is a tiny button that says EVF/LCD
Pressing that button should return the picture and the view to the rear screen..
Does the fuji fine pix camera have a focus button?
No, your camera does not have a manual focus button.
Even if it did, you wouldn't be able to keep focus while zooming.
Only very expensive lenses maintain focus regardless of focal lenght.
The correct procedure is to zoom and then focus.

what mode were you shooting on? that has happened to my friend before but he said something about a SLR card reader that 'retrieves' lost back-up.

HOW CAN I UPLOAD PICS
Regardless of the brand of your camera, place the card (xD in most Fuji models) in the reader. ensure that card is readable ("My Computer" initial screen).
The uploading package will likely display all pictures.
If the all pictures you want are contiguous, click on the first picture that you want to upload, hold the Shift key and click on the last pictures you want to upload. release Shift.
HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD ONLY THE PICS THAT I WANT FROM
Hi,
The simple way of connecting the camera to Laptop is:
- Connect a USB cable to the camera and to your PC.
- Switch the camera on and wait for the computer to recognise it.
- It should appear as another disk drive under "My Computer"
- Double click on the drive and it will open the folder structure.
- You can now right click and "copy" the photos from the camera to the computer folder you wish to put them in you laptop..
Another way is using the

How do you update the firmware of Fuji S7000?
What you do is have an ac mains adapter or a fully charged battery, a formatted card in your camera ( there should be a setting in your cameras menu for formatting) and the usb lead connected to your camera and pc. This should all be in your owners manual if you have one ( if not you can download one from a fuji website).
Check for a firmware update on a fuji website ( I had a look on a few and didn't find one) and down load it to your computer.
To check your current version hold the display back button down and turn the camera on. It should display the current version and ask if you want to up grade. If you don't ,or can't, turn off your camera.
Basically you down load the up date, then up load to your camera using the usb lead following any instructions along the way (get the manual for instructions. It will be easier). Mains lead is preferable as a battery could die halfway through and then you will be in trouble.
Hope this helps
