hey u need to install windows mobile device center first, not its update, on ur vista, as activesync cannot be installed on vista...

Having a lot of experience with Mobile operating systems, and also having a Mogul myself, it sounds like programs are running in the background and using the memory, hence the slow wake-up or slow performance.

The fact that ActiveSync runs when it wants too doesn't help either.. (see below)

Having weird programs on the memory card can also cause this (it's trying to actually boot from the card for some reason). Try popping the card out and powering it up.

First, I installed a little program which you copy the .cab file to the card called "ClearTemp". Then browse the card through file explorer, and install. You will see a little trash can under the programs list once installed. This will flush any residual files left behind by installing and uninstalling programs. If you're using the "enable gps" GPS "hack" (i use it too with google maps - great program), it may or may not find some of the install files from it, so pay attention to the files it wants to delete, so be sure to read the tutorial about what files are what BEFORE running it, as it may delete needed files!!

You can also check in your windows / startup folder through file explorer on the pda and see what exactly is trying to start when you power it up.

PS: if you want to stop ActiveSync from running whenever it feels like it, take "poutlook" from the startup folder. Sometimes you have to rename it to delete it, sometimes you don't. Deleting it will NOT effect its ability to sync when attached to the PC, it only stops it from running for no reason and using up memory.

These days they arent making the moguls anymore, and many of them have been reported as having problems. With that said, i was able to bring my phone in to a service store and they were able to order a new one for me free, but since they arent making moguls, they'll actually give you a TOUCH PRO!! much better phone in my opinion. They asked me if i had insurance, i do, but i hope that doesnt affect any of you. moguls ****...=(

Hold down the right and left soft key while pressing the hard reset button at the bottom of the phone.. then it will ask you do you want to master reset the phone .. click yes and it will rest ... the only problem with this is that it will delete all of your info. on the phone.. ring tone and # and even pic's and video's.

Can you turn on the wifi connection?

The phone is not connected to the active telephone line. ie: somewhere in the settings you can choose the phone # or 000-0000 as the active line. You're phone may be seleted to the 000-0000 as the active line. I de-activated my phone number on my Razr before I sold it so no one could use my #. This made the phone not charge and got extremely hot. When I set it back, all was fine.

sprint sent out a software update for that issue. Call sprint they will be glad to send the update to your phone to upload..

connect your phone to your laptop, if you are running window vista you need to have window mobile device center 6.1 installed( free download from microsoft.com) if you have xp you need microsoft activesync 4.5. once you have that installed on your phone click on start and internet sharing. hit connect on the bottom and your done. * active sync does not have to be on while you are tethering just installed.

You need to hard reset the phone. Check your manual on how to do it. Note: It will erase all data from your phone.
