The software updates for your Sony BDP-S350 can be found at their
website here. You will need to download the file, burn it to a disc and then load the disc into your player to upgrade its software to play your new blu-ray movie.
I hope that helps.
Problem with playing
Occasionally the software on most blu-ray players needs to be updated to the newest technology. The reason some discs play and some don't is because the discs that play are most-likely older movies or from a company that still used the "outdated" software. So the discs that don't play (most likely discs made with the updated software) won't play on your player until you've update the player's software. To do this visit, in your case, Sony's website for update info. There are a few ways you can get the info. You can download it directly to your player (if it has online accessibility) or you can request that they send you an update disc. Either way, most companies provide the update for free. Hope this helps, good luck!

Try updating your player's firmware. You can download the firmware file from sony's website. The blu-ray players require many updates because the blu-ray discs have format changes and special numbers that the player needs recorded into the firmware so the newer movies will play. Here is a link to the download page for the BDP-S300 player.

You will need to select the download for your operating system. Then you will need to burn the files onto a cd-r disc using the "burn image" option of your burning software. Once the disc has been made you can load it into your blu-ray player and then update the firmware. once updated it should bring your player back up and running again. These players require periodic updates. The newer players that can hook up to the internet update automatically when hooked up to the internet.
