Philips MWD2206 DVD Player/VCR Questions & Answers
How do you adjust the tracking to a Maganovox mwd 2200 dvd combo
- You can (i do) say thanks to engineers.
- they made after some time VCR's with auto-tracking (digital controlled).
- (exception:**IF you find some modern VCR's and have tracking: this control is pretty sure in the remote control or inside the menu**)
BUT
If you have problems as tracking point of view. (and not tracking in the remote control or any place else (menu) or front panel, etc
- VCR needs a good maintenance. The sensor (control head) is dirty now. Or someone went inside the mechanism (I don't think so) and move something there. IN any sense the service is needed for this problem in VCR.
- But if you mean the DVD
- you need the technician to replace the pick up laser.
DVD won't eject from magnavox MWD2206
Do u see a small hole in the front plate of the dvd player?
if you do ur in luck, unravel a large paper clip to make it straight, then very slowly push it straight into the hole until you see the dvd open.
If no hole then u will have to open the case while it is unplugged.
Video In or INPUT
It depends on your television set but there are two common ways to do it. One way is through the menu function on your television. The other is by pressing the Channel down button on your television or remote control and the option will appear.
Setting up the chanel on the VCR
(FROM MANUAL)
RF Output Channel
1-Set TV to Channel 4
2-Insert a prerecoeded tape into the unit
3-Press Source until VCR light is lit
~ if noise is seen on TV screen, press (VCR/TV) on remote
4-Press play> once
5- After a few seconds, press and hold {Play>} on the unit for 3 seconds
~ The RF output channel will change to channel 4 from 3 and you will see a playback picture
~ When a picture does not appear on the TV screen, repeat step 4
6- Press (STOP) to stop plasyback
I have Philips TV mode
I'm assuming that you have checked that the sound is not muted. To confirm that a reset to factory settings is the next procedure: Menu - Setup - General - Factory settings. If you don't see/hear any modifications then it's a hardware defect, not something with the settings.
This happens when the tv thinks that the headphones are used. Simple test to confirm that: plug in a pair of speakers and see if you get the sound on them. If you get and the situation doesn't changes when you unplug them then this is a mechanical defect: the small switch inside the headphone jack is faulty and keeps signaling that the headphones are plugged in when they are not.
The only way to fix that is to replace the jack, which involves a very delicate soldering procedure , one that only a good repairman can do - you must call one.

My rmt-d197a remote, i am trying to pair with my Philips t v
In order to pair your RMT-D197A remote to your Philips TV, follow these steps: 1. Power on the TV with the remote. 2. Press and hold the Setup button on the remote until the red LED light blinks twice. 3. Input the four-digit code that corresponds to your brand of TV on the remote. This should be found on the enclosed code list. 4. Release the Setup button. If the code is correct, the red LED light will blink twice. 5. Aim the remote at the TV and press the Volume Up button. If the TV responds, the remote is paired correctly.
