Hi,
Before ordering a replacement remote make sure you have followed the troubleshooting steps provided in the manual, mainly:
- Make sure the batteries are new and inserted and oriented properly.
- Check whether any button is stuck.
- Remove any obstacle between TV and remote.
- Bring the remote closer to the TV.
- Turn the TV off then on from the power button on the front of the LCD.
If you have tried these but still the remote does not work, there is a good chance it can be repaired. It can be as simple as a bad solder joint particularly where the batteries are inserted and/or a faulty IR LED. The LED is what emits the signals and is located in the center, front of the remote.
To check the IR LED, view the remote through a digital camera's LCD (you can use a mobile camera-phone) while pressing a button on the remote. The IR signals emitted cannot be perceived by the human eye but the camera will see it glowing. If it doesn't then its probably faulty.
After making sure the remote is the culprit, call on
1-888-257-8899 and ask them for a replacement remote.
