Same problem. Noticing a lot of posts about this problem in Feb-April of this year. Wonder if it is a conspiracy to get us to "upgrade"?? I have a cheapo $20 replacement waiting in the wings if I can't fix mine. NEVER spending $149 again for a phone.

best to take it to repair, got warranty? contact your dealer or kyocera directly.

Try setting the network lookup to manual instead of automatic. That way it would only look for a signal when you want it to.

Pairing your Cell Phone to your
Bluetooth Headset:

(FROM Bluetooth Headset)
1. Make sure Bluetooth Headset is fully charged!
2. Hold down talk button (center button of headset) up to
(Five) 5 seconds, then WAIT until you see a solid blue
light then immediately flip open earpiece part of headset.
THIS MEANS the HEADSET IS NOW IN PROGRAM MODE.


AT THE SAME TIME/ WHILE BLUETOOTH
IS STILL OPEN & IN PROGRAM MODE….

(FROM CELL PHONE)
1. Click on “Menu” (Left Button)
2. Scroll to Bluetooth icon. (Lower Right Hand side of menu)
3. Click “Ok” button
4. Then click on “My Devices”
5. Click “OK” again
6. Select “FIND NEW”: Cell phone searches/connects to pair up
with Bluetooth Headset.
7. Once your Cell phone discovers your new headset, select
“ADD” or click on the recently paired headset device.

8. You will then be prompted to enter a pairing code.
Use either..
a. 0000 or
b. 1111 or
c. 9999

Congratulations on paring/ connecting your new
Bluetooth Headset
w/ to your new Cell phone!

well i had the sameproblem but just go to the store and find out wats wrong the soft ware has a problem but they repaired mine for cheap

The strobe can't seem to blue-tooth or download. I have a strobe, and four or five of my friends do too. No blue-toothing AT ALL can happen with these phones, it seems...not to or from other strobes either.

But you may find thier phones anyway.

Open your phone to the qwerty keypad. In the righthand corner above and between the speaker and power/clear buttons, there should be a whiteish little button. Is anything obstructing it? Try pressing it gently a few times with a small phillips screwdriver or a ball-point pen top. GENTLY being the keyword! When you push that down, your outer screen should be lit up, and when you release it, it should light up the inside screen. Note that when your inside screen is lit, that your outer screen should light up blue-black-purple, and vice-versa.

If there is no obstruction that can be easily removed or fixed, I reccomend returning it to the retailer/company for a refund or new phone.

As a strobe owner, I understand your frustration. Worst phone I've had so far.

I suggest you buy a new battery, if that dosent work, send it back to Virgin Mobile for repair

They had canceled your old SIM card. Just keep the new one in and ask virgin to transfer the location to your new city.

This is the same kind of screw used on the Nintendo DS. I bought one via eBay last year to fix a broken screen. It worked on this phone to take it apart. I think I paid about $6 US and shipping.

Do a search on Nintendo+DS+screwdriver.

I asked Alltel customer service and they said the phone is not capable of it. Mine come through as symbols. I just bought this phone on Ebay but it will be back on Ebay shortly.
