My LG 42lc7d wont turn on.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary. Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

Why 42 inch 42LC7D WANT COME ON

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

My LG 42LC7D, when I turn it on, Blinks twice, then turns off

Sounds like it started "Protection Mode" because of a failed electronic part inside the TV. When this happens, the TV will keep turning itself OFF or will not turn ON at all. This keeps the other part inside from being damaged. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The common part to go bad for flat panel screens circuit board that powers the screen. Most manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can again try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, schematics, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15 by searching on the internet with the part number.

4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Replacing capacitors

It looks like electrolyte capacitors in the power supply board are causing this problem. If you can, open the back cover, check the power supply board, you will find some bulged capacitors. Change them. Your tv should work well. If you can not do it , please consult some one qualified to do.

LG 42LC7D-UB after few minutes the sound goes off and channel change by itself

When heats up, the supply voltage from the main power supply board goes less. Check all the soldering to this board for any loose solder terminals. Resolder all the suspected solder terminals by applying a little more solder. If it do not help you, replace the board as card basis.

My friend gave me a lg 42 inche lcd tv. i didnt ask her if it worked or not... i took it home and then pluggged it in, but the led light keeped flashing green then after awhile it stays steady and the

about the only simple thing would depend on if you can safely get the back off to look at the power board.Danger there is if set placed face down to remove cover, any downward pressure can destroy the front screen, it has to be put face down so frame around screen is support with no weight on the screen itself.A common failure in these sets is filter caps or capacitors, follow power cord to the power board and LOOK for puffed up caps and if find even one on that board or elsewhere puffed up it will be easy to replace and not expensive---I only mention this as it is common and not real hard to fix.I will attach some photos I have gathered that show this from mild to severe. If you get it open look carefully. It may or may not be your problem but since it is common and easy to see start there. 12_20_2012_3_52_00_am.jpgthe one on the right is a mild case but is bad.12_20_2012_3_52_46_am.jpgThe ones with the arrows are moderate but also bad.12_20_2012_3_53_41_am.jpgThese two remind me of the old popcorn you put on the stove and waited for it to puff up, extreme.

Lg 42lc7d-ub slow startup

Hello,This is a very common symptom indicating the the filter capacitors on the power supply board are beginning to fail. These parts are used by the power supply to stabilize the power from the board but they overheat and start failing after a few years of use. If you can do a little soldering then you can do the repair yourself by replacing the filter capacitors of the board. Below you will see a picture of what the capacitors look like when they start to fail. 12_7_2012_3_28_06_pm.jpgAnd here is an article about failing capacitors:http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/capacitors/There are 9 capacitors on your board to replace and once they are replaced the unit should be as good as new. Here is a link to information showing which capacitors your board needs and the locations of the ones to replace.http://www.ccl-la.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=214I hope this helps,BuddyMc
