Fan not running in freezer

Good Morning Friend, I understand the fan is not running in the freezer portion of your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRT21P5A. I see that the freezer is getting cold but the fan does not circulate the cold air. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Turn the power back on and listen for the fan to circulate the air. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. -Best Regards- WP

Why won't my BRAND NEW White Westinghouse Refrigerator freeze ice cream?

Hi,This problem should be checked if this unit is new, but this issue sounds like a cooling problem for the compressor. This means that its possible the condenser fan motor is not operating or the voltage to the fridge is below 110V at times. This can cause short cycling, but rare to see (the voltage issue). If not a fan issue, is the compressor clicking? are the light going out in the unit when the doors are closed? Let me know if any of these issue are true please.Good Luck I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gere_bf68e6055dd61249

CONDENSER FAN NOT WORKING

Yes, it it critical to the operation. The fan passes air over the coils if it doesn't, you will build up head pressure causing all kinds of problems.

How to replace the condenser fan on my refrigerator

Fortunately this is pretty simple in that you just replace it and put the wires back the same way. Insure you mount motor securely and test spin it be fore you plug it in to see if it strikes anything. While you have the motor out, it would be a good time to do some cleaning of the coils. This will help it run more efficiently.

Hello nassaupc - If the unit has stopped making ice completely, try checking the following steps.
· It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these: If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire. If there\'s no plastic lever, simply lower the wire. In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again.
· Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won\'t cycle properly.
· When was the last time the filter was changed? Most side-by-side filters are recommended to be change approximately every 6-9 months depending on your water usage and frequency. The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice or have a clogged water filter. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts!
· Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary. The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you\'ve found broken parts, you can just replace it.
Should these suggestions prove to be ineffective, contact with a professional to accurately pinpoint any potentially more serious issues.

Adjusting doors to stay closed

It is not a matter of adjusting the doors. It is a matter of adjusting the legs so that the front legs are taller than the back. This causes the entire refrigerator to tilt toward the back, which is what makes the doors close by themselves. Your installer should have done this for you, as it differs between locations. It takes at least 2 people to do this: one person tilts the refrigerator back by pushing on the front of the freezer door, and the other person carefully rotates the front legs of the refrigerator until they lengthen about 1/2 inch - each! You might have to slide the whole refrigerator forward to give you some space behind it to allow tilting. Don't adjust the rear legs - not needed unless someone has unthreaded them in error, or for some unknown reason.

To whom it may concern and can please help me..

Hi,
I'm Leo
This is a common defrost problem, The ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. he fan can't blow into ref.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check evaporator fan in freezer
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
If this was helpful please rate me
Thanks for using fixya

Frigidaire FRT21INLH top frezer refrige

HI, sounds to me like ice build up in freezer and the clicking sound is fan blade hitting ice.If you can remove back panel inside freezer and if you see ice, you will need to clear ice which is also blocking vent that goes to frig to cool it.then i would recommend wrapping a heavy guage copper wire around heating element and putting other end down drain tube to prevent the ice build up.

Fridge is not cooling well. Freezer is fine

This problem is related to defrost. The defrost cycle is not running as it should be. The other possibility can be ice blockage in the ventilations.

The defrost is not working,.The evaporator coil in the inner section of freezer is got blocked by ice .

Try manual defrost reset procedure: ----

First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then empty whole unit completely. Then keep both the doors open. Wait for 24 hours. All the ice collected on the coils and in the freezer section will get melted. Clean the water from the sections. Then Connect the power cord of the unit to main power outlet after 24 hours/.Then set the temperature to normal in both fridge and freezer section. It will take near to 4 hours to get run in its proper cooling cycle. Then check, if the problem returns again. If the same problem occurs then it's defrost problem. The defrost board and the defrost thermostat/heater is not functioning properly and it has to be checked and replaced.

-------------------------------------------------

Check the damper if there is too much water collected in the damper then press the damper and remove the water collected in it. The procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the refrigerator section and the refrigerator section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes from the section, in that section the damper is located. Now this problem which you mentioned. In this problem the freezer works but no cooling in fridge, this happens if the thermostat is not functioning or the heater is not heating. Then the ice starts getting collected on the evaporator coil. The evaporator coil is at the internal section of freezer. If too much ice gets

collected then this ice blocks the fan in the freezer section from functioning and this blocks the damper section with ice getting collected there. This all procedure is controlled by the main defrost board of the unit. Now if the damper is not got blocked with too much water or if the ice is not got collected on the damper area then check the evaporator coils. If there is too much ice got collected on the coils, then takes a hair dryer and melt the collected ice. Then see if the problem returns again. But if there is little bit ice collected on the coils and fan is running properly then it's not a problem. In that case main defrost board is faulty and it has to be replaced. The main defrost board is working but its not controlling the functions as required so the freezer works but fridge section not getting cold..

Freezer developing frost while the

The frost build up is causing airflow blockage to fresh food compartment. Frost build up is either a sign of poor door seals, door left open, or bad defrost circuit. If after manually defrosting and after a few days the frost reappears, problem most likely is with the defrost circuit.

If you have some background of electrical circuits you may attempt repair yourself or call in a tech.

Defrost timer on your unit is near the light in the refrigerator. Recessed in a hole, turn with a flat blade screwdriver and advance timer until you hear a click and refrigerator turns off. After a few minutes the heater should come on and should hear moisture hitting heater in freezer compartment in back panel.

If heater is not coming on, could be a bad heater or defrost thermostat is bad. Both of the parts are accessed through the back panel inside of heater. Unplug and ohm check for continuity of heater & defrost thermostat. Heater is a cal rod unit, thermostat more likely to be the problem. part #5303918202
