HI, this is control failure. the logic chip set is damaged. this is causing these erratic commands and the unauthorized locking of the oven door. you will need ot replace the control in this case.(EOC/clock)

Could be a defective temperature probe.
Test the probe by removing the wires. Take a VOM set for ohms. read the violet color wires for plus or minus 5% of 1100 ohms. If it reads OK at this resistance change out the ERC (clock). If it reads outside this resistance, change the temperature probe.

it is probably the bake ignitor needs replaced. the only way to check it is with an amp meter. however, this is a part that does fail alot, and you can buy one for pretty cheap. it is located mounted on the bake burner by 2 screws. and it only involves splicing 2 wires, (the wire nuts you need should come with the new ignitor)

you will need to call the parts store directly and ask them to order the part or if they know where to get it. My guess is that with the unit being that old, your part is obsolete.

these things are easily rectified. do a continuity test on the heating element. if it is bad. order a new one and replace it.

check your breaker to see if it tripped,sometimes the breaker will trip and one or the other wont work.meaning the stove top or oven.also check and see if their are any breaks or burn spots in bake element and your broil element.

unplug it for a while, plug it back in see if it unlocks, try pressing the cleaning button again and see if it unlocks.

Check the temp censer in the oven It went bad.

set both start & stop timers to the same time.Turn on the selector and the temperature knobs to clean. Hold in the light button, on the right top side of oven, and hold for 15 seconds.
then turn off the selector knob. hold button again for 15 seconds and the lock should unlock,
then turn off the temperature knob.

You probably have a faulty element if it is a fan oven

I found the manual online. Apparently my unit is malfunctioning and should work by just pressing bake temp and then selecting the temp...

You will have to take the oven out ,Turn off the power and check if the wires are tied behind the oven,

resetting thebreaker sometimes will work. if not try setting to clean. after engages the door to clean simply cancel the cycle the door lock/latch will cycleback . perhaps it just glitched shut.

its not the thermostat most of the time you can look at the element and see if its bad un less a wire is burned off behind or has come off behind the wall of the oven where the element is you can turn off the breaker to the oven off remove the two screws pull the element foward remove one of the wires to the element and check it with an ohm meter to make sure its bad and some ovens have a vari broil feature but most times they just run full bozo consult your owners manuel to see about yours if you dont have a manuel can get one here http://www.frigidaire.com/support/manuals.asp
