If you filled up the water, removed all the safety seals from the machine and did everything else as well, then it should work indeed. If not, then bring it back.

Can you put the grinding size to maximum? Are the beans may be too big for the grinding mill to pick up. Can you maybe also try smaller beans for the mill?
